Witte Family Fun - Day 2

The kids are natural campers. They live to be outdoors. If they could, they would sleep outside every single night.  Juliet and Mason went to bed inside with me, but only because it was in the 35-40 degree range last night! As soon as Juliet woke up she ran right to the door and was saying "go, go to da-dee!"
I took her out and she climbed right in his bag ready to be in the tent with him.
It was glorious being outside in the chipper mountain air. It made me long for fall. I absolutely love fall.
Colorado has the best fall. We waited for everyone to wake up and all cuddled in the blankets.
It was sooooo early. Like 5:45 and we were up and watching Phineas and Ferb. We love that show, but yikes! we look rough!
Mason slept great, the first night.
This was only 1/2 of the cups! They looked so funny on the counter lined up.

Everyone got dressed and started to play together.
Lucas is teaching Noah how to play Cut the Rope, it is one of his favorite games right now.
Grandma and Grandpa made sausage and french toast for breakfast.
It went fast:
After breakfast, we split up. I wanted to go into the village to show the kids where we spent our honeymoon.
I was determined to take a special picture.

We went into the village and the kids played a few games of GIANT connect four:
Then we let the kids explore the Zephyr.
All around the hotel, they have these musical instruments. Several different versions, this one makes the coolest sound because it is in this pocket in the courtyard so you can hear it echo!

It looks TOTALLY different without the snow! Hahaha.

Then we met up with everyone else and the kids found a climbing wall, so we grabbed their picture together!
Sydney, Juliet, and Mason are missing.

They had a snowboard simulation thing.
Bridget and Lucas had no fear, of course.
It was July 4th so they had over decorated everything, even the city Moose.

Here is what I really wanted to recreate.
I know I have posted before that I really wanted to do a snowy in the cabin type vacation, for our honeymoon. Nathan asked me to make a list of things I hadn't done before and we crossed them off the list for our honeymoon.

Here we are in 2005, 3 days after we were married.
Here we are 7 years and 5 kids later:

It was so neat to be here again, but this time with our babies.
We are going to come back in 7 years and try it again, marking my calendar for 2019.
Lucas will be 13 by then! Nathan will be 100! Haha Just kidding. :)

Witte Family Fun - Day 1

Winter Park, CO.
A beautiful place. The last time we were here was in Feb 2005, our Honeymoon!
It was really cool to see it in the summer time.
These are clouds, the kids were worried about the fires and thought this was smoke, but, it was just clouds!
It started to pour, so I turned the music off and we sang songs when suddenly...Bridget spotted a Rainbow!

It was much bigger than this, but with the winding roads of the mountains, this was the best shot I could get!
We actually pulled up to the cabin at the same time as Ben and Danielle, so they pulled out some games they had brought!
We had been experiencing 100+ degree days in Denver so it was nice to be in the 60s the majority of our trip. The property is huge and has a big yard with a "lake" attached.
We brought a tent to camp out one night.
While Danielle and I were making salads. Ryan and Veronica with their crew came. The kids enjoyed outside play AND water guns!
In case you were wondering Bridget has been in Hawaii tanning for the past month.
(just kidding, she browns up so nicely just in one day)

We enjoyed each others company until a frisbee landed into the lake.
Then it was fun for us girls watch the men figure out how to get it out.
AAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA

It was a beautiful night, the sun was setting and it was so nice out.

We then came in for salads and chat.
Pizza Salad, Spinach Bacon and Egg Salad, and Chinese Cabbage Salad...
Beet and Goat Cheese Dip, Fruit Dip, and Bean Salad.
Everything was delicious.
Everyone fit in the cabin beautifully. We even had room to spare - *read* Liz and Cory, and Jared and Erin!
After dinner we went on a family walk.
Over the bridges and rivers, and through the woods.
The kids loved every second of their outdoor time.
One of the locals brought her dog over to see the kids. Juliet shouts "dah-gee" and is in heaven!
More talking and hanging out. Mason had a fun time too!
Grandpa Witte really wanted to play Bunco, so he set it all up and everyone was able to play.

There were even PRIZES!
It was so fun being together, relaxing, and reminiscing about old times. It is weird that we have all known each other for so long!

We stayed up way too late, and laughed a lot.
It was a great first day in Winter Park/Fraiser.

7 of 7

Here are SEVEN silly faces of our silly SEVEN month old!

Before I start, Mason is such a character! He is always making silly faces and laughing and giggling and we just love it so much.
He has a better smile than this, but this face goes with a cute little chuckle.
This is his face when the kids "try" to make him laugh. Which in turn, makes us laugh.
This face is his face when he is talking. We hear "oohs and mmms" and lots of drool.
 Love those eyelashes!
 Stunned!
 Hahahaha
A little worried.

Mason out grew his braces, and was fitted for new ones.
The PT is impressed because he can roll over BOTH ways, and can do this:
Seriously, this is the most exciting thing EVER!
Now THAT is a cute smile! :)
Oh, look here is Lucas at 7 months:

Something Mason still does is suck his thumb.
Then, when he is satisfied, he naps on his hands.

But, at night, he always sleeps on his back!
How weird!

Dear Mason, we love you so much and think you are pretty great.
You are growing so fast, and we are so proud of you!
Love the 6 of us. :)

PS - Here is a silly face of Lucas at 7 months:

He is almost 6 years old. *sniff, sniff*
