Spring Break, day 1 and day 2

We left at 3:30am, the kids were so excited, it didn't take much cajoling to get them up and into the car. If it weren't for Denver traffic we would have made it in 9 hours. That is how long it should take.

Anyway, the kids were so excited to see everyone. I went to Penzey's with my MIL and we went to the store, and had a delicious spaghetti dinner.

The next morning, we were out the door at 8am. We went to target, and then to downtown city!

 The kids wanted to see the capitol building, so, we passed by there.

 We drove over to the bird refuge. Zoom in on this picture, there are some crazy nests.

 Then we asked the kids if they wanted to go to the zoo or the DNSM, 4 out of 5 said the science museum, sorry Scarlett.

 We took our time, and the kids really enjoyed it.

 We gave them more freedom. Once we went to one room,the older 2 split and did their own thing and met us at the exit when they were done. They really enjoyed the chance to see what they wanted.

 But, the most favorite exhibit, by far, was the Discovery Zone. (the NEW kids area)

Mason even touched an African Hissing Cockroach Beetle. GROSS

We also enjoyed the mythical creatures exhibit.

After almost 5 hours at the museum, we went out for a Korean lunch. It was FANTASTIC.

Scarlett loved the smells.

Then we hung out at home, and by miraculous happenings everyone was able to come over for dinner.

 The kids LOVED seeing their cousins early!

It was a fun day. I would have taken a picture of Max, but he was having stranger danger.

He was wanting mom and dad all night.

***Sunday***

We took the kids to Faversham.

 Something we collectively miss about Colorado, are the abundance of parks.

 After a goose poop incident, we changed and came home for grilled cheese. We watched a movie, and then made dinner for the family. It was a good day!

Art Pack Meeting

This was a chill activity.

I had 2 Arrow of Lights, and it was awesome!

I made Rice Krispy Paint Brushes.

Each group of boys had to do some type of Art Project. Lucas watched a youtube video on how to draw a camp fire, and then painted this.

I wish you could see the texture of his project, it was so cool.

Then I had the boys practice a song and they performed it at the meeting.

These were the wolves minus one.

But if you listen, it sounds like Lucas and his back up singers.

I made the joke "guess who's mom made them memorize it?" it got some laughs.

Then, I did an art themed arrow of light.

I have never seen one, or done one,and it turned out cool.

I had the boys separate into groups and we did play-doh sculpture charades.

 They absolutely loved it!

While that was happening, I had the parents write anonymous notes to the kids about their projects.

The webelos displayed their wood crafts.

We also worked on new neckerchief slides.

It was so fun and mellow, and now I can get ready for our spring break trip! Woot!

Scarlett is SIX!

She turned 6 on the 6th so it was a Golden Birthday!

 She asked for golden pancakes with golden raisins inside, but we didn't have golden raisins, and then she and Nathan decided on peaches and cream on top.

Her pancakes were stacked 6 high, and she was SO excited!

 Then she asked to open presents before everyone left for school.

Her favorite thing was a diary and a multi color pen. Go Auntie Steph!

She also wore her gold sunglasses. It was so sunny and nice, she didn't even need a sweater.

But, I had one just in case.

It was PJ day at school.

Scarlett passed out Golden Birthday Cake Oreos.

The kids loved them.

Then we went to Toys R Us to spend GiGi's gift cards!

We were the only people there! It was so fun!

Scarlett has made her date list, and that should be the next post!

Woot!

Where has all the time gone?

I have been so busy these past two weeks.

I am losing my mind!

The 27th was Read Across America Day.

The whole school dressed as nerds, and they read for the whole day and tested on every book they read on. It was a sight!

 This is the Librarian and Scarlett's class. Our school made the news!(above)

Below is Bridget's class and Bridget and her teacher.

Because I am on the PTO board, I was there all day to take pictures.

I am also doing the yearbook this year. *sigh*

Our ward had an awesome fundraiser on the 3rd.

 The first and second counselor of the bishopric had an egg roulette duel.

The 4th was Idaho day. The 4th graders put on an assembly, and my kids LOVED it!

Including a square dance.

Then the 5th was Dr. Seuss Day

 Scarlett loves her ham.

The 6th was a very special golden birthday.

 Yesterday was Kindergarten Assessment testing, which meant I was at school ALL day testing incoming Kinders. It was fun.

I also taught RS this Sunday and had no voice because I am getting over laryngitis.

The week before I hurt my back, and was in so much pain,I had to be on medication and chiro visits every other day.

My ward also did an 8 week biggest loser challenge, and I won most % weight loss and most pounds lost. The grand winner was our good friend Ron, who totally deserved his win (via points)

Things are settling down, for now. Whew!

This week I also have Key Scouters, Roundtable, Police Field Trip, Book Club, and Craft Night.

Not to mention, Dance 2x, Basketball 2x and homework. Is it Spring Break yet?!?!

I wouldn't trade any of this busy-ness, because we are all LOVING Idaho so much
