Bestie?

Lucas has Robert, and Noah, and Anna, and Larke.

Bridget is kinda lonely the only girl her age is Alli. Its okay because she is sort of a tomboy so it works out that there are boys like Nick, Tanner and Keegan around that she thinks are fun to play with. I knew she particularly loved Keegan because during Sacrament you can always hear when she spots him..."Keegan, Keegan, Hi!"

Yesterday we invited him over for a play date and both my kids loved playing with him. I mean really loved it. We played a marshmallow game...
We read books...
We did an art project...
We made pizzadillas...
We colored with chalk...
...and the whole time Bridget would hug him or he would kiss her and it was so fun to watch them play together. It made me miss Ethan and Ali, two kids I watched for 4 years. I loved being their nanny and I miss our fun adventures together. I think I am ready to take on another kid. We really enjoyed having Keegan over - I think Bridget would consider him her best friend. I mean she even cried when he left. Aww.

Knights and Naps

We had quite the weekend. Lucas went to Natalie's and got his first big boy hair cut...
He has had several cuts before this a #3 all around but this was the first professional cut..with scissors! Hahaha.
Before

After

Scroll down to see it from the front...
I have to say that I LOVE it, and he was sad no one at church told him if they liked it or not, but I told him that he was so handsome they didn't know what to say about it and he giggled about that. Nathan thinks it is a military cut but it isn't - its just short and I'm the mom and that's how I like it!

We then went to Jerry and Julie Blackburn's reception...it was at the Arvada Center. One of my favorite things at the Arvada Center is the giant dragon. Nathan had to prove his charming-ness and be my knight and slay that dragon...my...hero?!?

I am glad that everything worked out with the dress thing and we were able to just enjoy the Jerry's double reception with Ryan and Veronica and Chuck and Lue. Even though Veronica had to remind me that the cider was non-alcoholic...weddings just get me in such a silly mood. Hehehe. Minus all of the jokes Jerry and Julie were so cute (funny how I didn't get any pictures of them) and it was a great night away from the kiddies. It also reminded me of when it was just the four of us RV and NV before we had kids. :) Thanks to my inlaws for taking my hoodlems!

Now on to Sunday. I had Ward Conference so Nathan brought the kids to church ready for my inspection and he did a great job! I only had to do Bridget's hair when they arrived. My class went well (which I am ALWAYS worried about) and then it was time to come home...I was preparing dinner and noticed the silence that was in my house...

I love Sunday comas...don't you?
(PS - Lucas, Bridget and Nathan ALL sleep with one eye open, I am totally serious here)
(Click on Bridget and you will see)

Then the kids opened a fun letter from Grandma Horn oh and Grandpa too.
THEY THOUGHT THIS WAS SOOO COOL. Lucas said "I got mail not for my birthday!"

It was a fun weekend, and next week promises to be eventful...stay tuned!

To the Max!

We had so much fun at the park the other day I wanted to post a few pictures because it is summer and that is our life right now...

Scarlett was her usual happy self...
I love her dimples (above)
We had a great turn out and Lucas was so happy that Robert - his best friend was there.
They love to play together. Oh and Lucas always points out when he is not there, so it was nice to just let them go on their own and have fun.
Bridget was mischievous taking handouts of food where ever she could get them. :)
It was hot and fun all at the same time and I am glad our ward includes EB Raines on their list. It screams summer to me, and we always have fun to the max! :)

My ???

Girls in Boy Clothing?

Oh Nathan...
This was Sunday morning before I got my hands on them...this is after...
Much Better! :) Boy I sure love having 2 girls! hehehe.
Don't worry about Lucas he matched us all too he had a yellow tie just like Daddy!

Arvada Jubilee

The Arvada Stake Celebrates 50 years! Here is the website all about it...JUBILEE
WARNING lots of pictures!!!
Bottle Rockets. We are building some next weekend!
Then to the moon bounce! For the first time.
Bridget LOVED it!
Nathan and Scarebear observing.
Then we went to the hammer time competition.
We met up with Grandpa Witte who was in charge of the rope bridge. He let Scar go first.
Little Miss Adventure wanted to go several times, but there was much to much to do.
Like sitting in a milk jug (the old fashioned kind)
We stopped by Grandma Witte's booth about food storage and enjoyed some dehydrated apple slices.

We played shoot 'em ducks, Bridget is a pro because Grandpa Horn has these for the pool.

Lucas ran over to the kissing booth. I was concerned until I saw what they were doing over there...

Next a fun tractor picture...

The professional picture...
Moon Bounce #3

Lucas and Noah look so cute.
Scar was so jealous.

So Nathan gave her a little ride.

It reminded me of my dad and Stef (tear)
Had a little liquid refreshment...

Had a real pioneer experience. So real, Nathan had to help the boys pull like men...

I love this one.

Then we headed home.

There were over 1500 in attendance at the Jubilee and I believe about 220 of them stopped to say hi to me and and tell me that my kids were cute. Nathan was a little jealous since he lived in Arvada most of his life and most of the people we talked to and said hi to were talking to me. :) It was a fun and very hot day and I am glad to say we were apart of it! I secretly missed the Singles Ward today. (but not the being single part) :)
