One of my young women got married yesterday. It wasn't emotional for me until her father and her said their goodbyes. It was a funky fun wedding in orange yellow and red for colors.
Aren't they cute? It was fun for my kids and they told Chelsea that she was beautiful and that she chose good going to the temple. Haha, they had the whole line laughing. It was great.
The kids left with Nathan about 40 minutes after it started and I stayed to help with Kitchen duty. It was fun to chat say hi and all that stuff and be able to sneak cream puffs here and there! Haha.
My kids missed the bagpipes but I told them all about it and they thought it was neat. I didn't take very many pictures because I was helping out so much, but I am so happy for them and wish them the best! :)
Boulder County Fair
Ryan and Veronica invited us to join them at the Fair. We were planning on going to the Adams County Fair because it is down the street from our house and is running the exact same week as the Boulder one, but it is always fun to go with friends...and family! :)
It was looking pretty dreary on our drive down there from the thunderstorms and Navy colored sky but we proceeded into the fairgrounds. We met them at the Barrel Racing Stable Area and the kids were all so happy to see each other.
Scarlett was more fascinated with the bleacher stairs but that is a 17 month old right? I also can't explain Lucas's face in this picture...I'll just leave that up to you. :)
After the barrel racing we went to the rabbit area.
They were Enormous!
After that we let the kids pick a few rides to go on.
This next one is an action shot...
Hahaha Bridget is such a thrill seeker! Hahaha.
After a few rides Nathan found the CSU Ram...Boo Hiss!!!
Scarlett was hanging with Nathan since she was too widdle to wide the wides.
Even the ponies she was too small for, but she enjoyed watching the bigger kids wave to her.
So handsome!
Bridget was convinced that her horse "Pete" was a girl because "he" had the best hair of all the ponies.
Hahaha.
The wind started to pick up so we headed to a restaurant and after 45 minutes of traffic in a 4 mile stretch we decided to part ways, but we still had fun!
Once we got home the kids were upset we didn't get funnel cakes so we might head to the Adams County Fair tonight just to get some! :)
Pretty Much
When Nathan is around, I am non existent...with Scarlett anyway.
All of the kids love their Daddy, but Scarlett loves him and needs him the most.
I blame his 19 week stint of unemployment at the beginning of the year and the fact that he had Scarlett with him most of the time...her choice. She isn't clingy by any means, I am lucky enough to not have clingy kids, but she is a different little girl when he is around...
She is loud and happy and mostly on his lap. Haha.
They are inseparable which is great because she wants her Daddy and wants to do what he is doing.
Look she finally has TEETH!
They were reading books after bath time they started on their snuggle time. For a guy who didn't want girls he sure got two that adore him! Hahaha.
And one that looks just like him and laughs like him too! Haha.
Eventhough she likes him better, She still is such a joy to have in our home! I love you Scarlett, one day you will love me too! I am also very lucky to be married to a man who is not only involved but loved by his kids -and I like him a lot too. It is such a blessing to have such a great guy in my life!
Say Cheese!
I need to add that as I was typing htis up she was pretending to feed him baby food.
So cute!
Fun times and a concussion!
So a few days ago I took the kids to the Splash Park. Here was the view. Gorgeous right?
Scarlett was waiting for her turn to get sunscreened.
Then the sprinklers came on.
Nathan took them in for the first splash.
Then they went in on their own.
Can you tell they are related?
Scarlett was fine until the water came down and drenched her.
Then she was done. Hahaha.
Brown Bridget happily wet.
Nathan was more wet than the kids by the end.
They are like twins it is so weird.
This picture kills me.
Have I mentioned how much I love this stroller...it seats 3!
Love it!
So we had a fun day and then Lucas fell in the parking lot on his head. He didn't cry much so I didn't think anything of it. The next day he was washing his hands with his sister and slipped on the stool and hit his head on the bathtub. He was screaming and then stopped and couldn't focus. Then his nose started bleeding and then he vomited. The pediatrician told me to take him to the ER and after 4 fun hours they said he didn't have a concussion. Until I was driving home and they called me and said that he did and there was nothing that they could do. He complained of a headache for the next few days, but I think he is finally back to normal. :)
Fruits of our Labors
For Mother's Day we decided to buy 2 tomato plants. We aren't green thumbs, we aren't organics, we just wanted to see what would happen if we tried. Today we pulled 2 red tomatoes and 1 yellow one. We counted and there are about 55 tomatoes that are growing on our 2 bushes.
The kids were excited to try them.
Lucas especially.
My kids love veggies.
Seeds and juice were everywhere!
Lucas asked me when we can pull up the corn and zucchini and his favorite asparagus.
I had to break the news that we didn't plant any of those, and he was so upset.
Next year, next year.
Scarlett ate the entire yellow one including the stem before I could take her picture! Haha
So if anyone wants tomatoes let us know...it will probably be about 3 more weeks but they will be huge!
And red of course!
Wrapping up this Birthday
Because I am ready for it to be OVER!!!
Just Kidding. We do birthdays big in our house. It is the one day the person gets to be celebrated. Lets face it though -- every holiday we do big who am I kidding? And when I say we I obviously mean me because Nathan usually shakes his head at the beginning and in the end loves all of the hoopla! Hahaha.
The morning of he begged to open his presents during breakfast...so we let him. These were from Auntie Stef and Uncle Theo.
He was so excited and happy and got birthday calls from Grandma, Grandpa on both sides, Auntie Steph and Uncle Theo, Aunt Liz and Uncle Cory and we sang to him too!
He wanted Chinese for dinner with shrimp. He loves shrimp. Then we went to Red Robin to snag a free sundae. You don't have to get a meal to get the Sundae isn't that cool?
When the staff asked him what he wanted for his birthday he yelled out "A brother!" The looks I got after that were so embarrassing...don't worry he isn't getting one! Luckily seeing Toy Story 3 was enough to distract him. :)
Lucas shared with Bridget only because she grabbed a spoon before he got the first official bite! LOL.
The next day the Library opened NEAR MY HOUSE so the kids each got a bookbag that I made them and a Library Card of their very own. I wanted to wait to get them their own because I knew that the Library by our house would be more special to them if they got their cards there too! :) I was right!
It is less than 1/2 mile from my house...we rode our bikes there. It was AWESOME!
Then today...
It was 98 outside so we ventured out to The Bay. I brought Nathan's suit and he met us there after work.
My kids are fearless when it comes to water. All of them jumped right in and had a blast.
Even Scarlett would fall on purpose just to get wet.
This is such a fun place and on Friday night its $10 for the WHOLE family! 4-8 pm!
We had a little snack and ran around in the grass to dry off.
They loved this.
It was fun to watch.
We had a busy week and it was fun and hectic but ended on a good note.
Tomorrow : OPERATION BASEMENT!
AAAHH!!!
