March Party

So a long time ago...a year ago to be exact there was a baby boom in our ward hovering around the month of March.  The funny thing is that we all had our babies on a Friday...a different Friday...but a Friday nonetheless.

2 ladies moved away and one moved in so that left us with 5 babies who are Feb/March birthdays!

So we celebrated our 1st year!
Lucas (not one), Avery, Scarlett, Brielle, and Jacob
Avery, Scarlett and Brielle
Scarlett and Jacob
This isn't a good one but I like it.
Jacob (March 18) Jane (March 13) Brielle (March 13) Scarlett (March 6) and Avery (Feb 20)
Scarlett being unlady like *tisk*tisk*
Brielle was laughing at Nathan, Jane was being such a character and Scarlett was embarrassed of Nathan.
After the couch pictures we had a mini gift exchange.

Scarlett got a puzzle and Lucas and Bridget fought over it the entire way home.
Avery and Scarlett watching Phill (Avery's Dad)
Everyone brought an appetizer and Natalie made the cupcakes.
I love this picture of Avery.
Brielle, so cute.
Scarlett flashing a gang sign...that;s right baby "westsiiiiiiiide" (that was for my sister)
The cuties.  We didn't get the addendum to the memo about the high chair...but its cool.
You don't need a high chair to shove a cupcake in your mouth.
Jane and Jacob being funny.
Avery asking for more!
Kara (Jacob's mom had this great idea to take one of the moms and kids)
So here it is!

It was fun and I am glad we were invited. :)
These were everyone's first babies and Scarlett is my third...
I am also glad that the kids were happy the whole time!

Comparison

I always get my kids 1st year pictures taken, something about me getting too frustrated to take them myself because I like them all and/or they don't pay attention to me and so I don't like any of them. :)

Here is a comparison of the three...

2007 - Lucas
2008 - Bridget

2010 - Scarlett

I think they ALL look alike...what do you think?

Butterfly Bash

Scarlett's Birthday started with the traditional song...

Except, Scarlett was lucky to have a large group of singers singing to her this year...
Lucas, Bridget, Duncan, Liam, Gwendolyn and Rosaline, plus me and Nathan.

(these were the 2 videos that I liked!)

Then I finished the party favors...
A ziploc bag and some easter candies, a pipe cleaner and a clothes pin...A Butterfly!
Inside a bucket full of goodies. Mmmm.
I think they turned out soooo cute...what do you think?
Here are the Cupcakes...Butterflies! Go ahead shriek with excitement!
Now outside for a photo op...
Hi I am Scarlett and I am one!
I like my new dress!
No really, I do.
Dude my parents are hilarious!

 - Okay now to the party -

Noah and Elijah, Uncle Alex and Uncle Spencer came with Grandma and Grandpa Witte.
Of course Uncle Ryan was there with Auntie Veronica.
We had appetizers for dinner, and everyone liked them.
I ate what I could get my hands on!
Then it was present time!
Yes! A Tea Set, now Bridget won't yell at me from drooling on hers!
A Cabbage Patch! I love babies!
I mean really, I love babies! Don't even look at it, its mine!
Auntie Veronica and Uncle Ryan picked out some cute baby clothes for me to play with since I LOVE to take the baby clothes off of the babies!
Then it was Ele-fun time!  Time to catch Butterflies!
Then it was cupcake time!
I was salivating! Seriously look at my chin!
This was me after my 2nd cupcake, okay maybe third.  I love frosting!

Thanks to everyone who came to my party to help me celebrate!
I love being one!

Well...yesterday. Things are a little hectic around here since Danielle is staying here and the funeral was yesterday, so I am going to play catch-up!

Here is the Birth Story

I can't believe she is ONE! This year has gone by so fast, and even though its sad that I don't have a baby anymore I am glad that she is walking and independent and a happy little toddler! Woah!

Chickens can't play Basketball

So our friend gave us some Denver Nuggets tickets and suggested we take the kids, and at first I thought no way but then after thinking about it I thought maybe she was right.

So I kept telling the kids we were going to the Nuggets game and then I said it was a Basketball game and Lucas blurts out "Chickens can't play basketball!"  I laughed and then we headed down there.

I am so grateful that my friend took Scarlett so we could go see the game, it was nice to not have worry about her.  The kids were sad she didn't come but I didn't know if the noise would scare her or if because the game was at 7pm if she would have been a cranky butt the entire game.

So we got to the game and I saw my friend from the Denver post there so he let us park in the press parking lot...which was FREE.

I printed out some coupons ahead of time so the concessions were FREE, so we basically spent $3 on sweat bands for the kids...sweet huh?
Here they are for the warm up.
They played a lot of music and everyone around us was laughing at the kids going wild with the dancing.
Bridget was really into the game.
I mean really into it.
Lucas was loving all of the shouting that is involved in a basektball game.

Who's ball is it?
NUGGETS BALL

and my Dad's favorite...

MELOOOOOOOOO

We grabbed some popcorn and then checked out the sites inside.
Then they showed the halftime show and Lucas was commenting on how funny it was that they kept showing the cheerleaders butts on the giant TV.
It was pretty funny.  I also thought it was funny that Lucas kept telling me

"Mom where's the Apple Juice?  I see everyone with Apple Juice in their cups with no lids.  I hope they are careful because Apple Juice is sticky."

Apple Juice =Beer
Bridget was si excited she tried calling Cory and Grandpa and Sickinee aka Stephanie.
Lucas saw this Avs guy and said hey I have that shirt!
So Grandpa this one's for you!

On the way home from the game Lucas said "that was so great Mom, it was a time of my life."

I laughed and then he asked if he could take Grandpa Horn to see it next time he comes to visit.  I said sure, and Bridget yelled out..."AND GWAMMA too?

Of course.

"In this house..."

"...DROWNING is not allowed!" - Lucas age 3 1/2

When Nathan bathes the kids he does
Bridget and Scarlett first and usually Lucas is on another night.  When he decides to bathe them on the same night I tell him to make sure the door is closed because we have 2 little girls who think they are fish.

He nods and forgets and then you hear Lucas scream

"Scarley-In this house drowning is not allowed...Get out of MY tub!"

I pause.

I think...what is he saying?
This can't be a game.

I grab the camera and run upstairs...
That's right.  Scarlett decided that even though she had her bath first, and had clean jammies and a brand new diaper on, she needed another bath.

I look at Nathan who also ran upstairs and he said
by 6 favorite words.
"I.know.you're.right.
I'm. sorry"
I mean seriously how could you get mad at this kid?
Her dad on the other hand is another story! Haha.

Lucas then blurted out "That is so dangerous Scar - you need a cold shower!"
If you know me - you know why this is funny.

I made Nathan take care of it because it was totally his fault, and this is what Scarlett did...

I would like to add that the Sam's brand diaper held its own in the bathtub and was not 50 extra pounds of weight like a Huggies would have been.

That was pretty much how the night ended.  I would also like to add that my husband didn't get off that easy I'd like to bring it up a few more times before I let this die down. Haha.
