Round 2

This will probably be Lucas's last season with non-competitive baseball. His coach and the opposing team's coach suggested to us to move him up in February. Lucas is pumped. He caught 3 balls bare handed while on 1st base, and has shown so much improvement since the last season.

Juliet and Mason watching the game.Have I mentioned that they are best friends?

We had a great Saturday and finished off our weekend on Sunday by watching Because of Winn Dixie. Sunday movie nights are the best, they have become quite the tradition here in the Witte house. :)

First Day!

Bridget, it just didn't feel like the right picture.
 There we go!
Lucas knew just what to do!

Both of these kiddos were ready for donuts!

Mason didn't get any last year, so, he made up for it this time!

Waving to the kids on their way to school.

Ju and Scar were sad to see them go.

We walked to school and the kids handed out their "apples"
Lucas and Mrs.H. she really loved him, and he loved her too.
 Lucas's new teacher.
 Bridget's teacher.
We found out at pick up that Bridget's class will only have 13 kids in it! Unless there are new move ins.
At first I was upset, but you just can't beat that ratio!

Lucas and Robert.
Not in the same class, but, still best friends.
Something funny about this picture is that Lucas has grown a lot this summer. He ended 1st Grade with a size 10 shoe, and started 2nd Grade in a size 2. He has also grown almost 4 inches. It is very noticeable next to Robert, and his cousin, Noah. :)

The kids had a great day and I did too!
My car is FINALLY fixed and we are in the last half of baseball season.
Wahoo!

Twas the Night Before 2nd Grade & Kindergarten

We made teacher treats for tomorrow's delivery.

They read:
An Apple for the teacher,
It's nothing really new,
Except this year I am returning - with my sister!
It is true!

We packed them with trail mix, gum, and gummy bears.
They also got a starbucks gift card.

Simple, Easy, and CUTE!

The kids are going to have a great year, even though B didn't get Mrs. K (they were both upset about it), Mrs. S is awesome. And, Lucas's teacher, Mrs. G is fabulous.

Yay!

33. End of Summer Picnic

We met up with Grandma and Grandpa Witte and Ryan and Veronica for our annual End of Summer Picnic.

The kids had a great time together, and with Grandma and Grandpa.

Bridget Kindergarten, Noah and Lucas 2nd Grade, and Elijah Kindergarten.

It was a perfect day for dinner and some splashing.

The day before, the day before, the first day of school.

We played with Laura and her kiddos who were in town and there were NO pictures!

We had to go to 3 Costco's! We went to the Mills Mall (kinda funny since that is her last name)
We got hair cuts, we bought shoes, and we basically shopped till we dropped.

Lucas had almost 4 inches shaved off his head!

He got the MVP treatment...
Then the kids met their teachers.

WE are SO excited for Tuesday!

32. Gain a few more family members

I had 3 sisters/in law all due in the same week.

My sister had her baby first, 2 weeks early.
Meet : Theodore Christos T.
(with Philip)

The very next day, Elizabeth (nathans only sis) had her baby.
Meet : Morgan Riley J.

And then, almost a week late, my sister in law Erin,(jareds wife) had this little cutie pie!
Meet : Elsa Barrett W.

And, that same day we found out that my sister in law Danielle (bens wife) will be having a boy in December.
So, after taking 2012 off for the Witte family grandbabies, we got 3 in one year.
My kids are excited to get 4 new cousins in 2013.
So the Witte count is 5 boys and 6 girls.
The Horn count is 4 boys and 3 girls.

Not too shabby. :)

31. Water Wednesdays

Usually our ward has park days on Wednesday, but July and Aug have kind of fiddled out.
So, we decided that we were going to hit different water parks around the city and cool down.
Some days we even played with water in the backyard.

This particular Wednesday, Nathan was able to join us.
It was overcast and not very "hot" but no one seemed to mind.

Here are the children at the new water/park near our house.

Mason totally caught me taking pictures of him. Haha. You can always count on Mace to give you a face. Haha.

Nathan tried some of the equipment, HAHAHAHA

Lucas seriously needs a hair cut. He wanted to "grow it out" this summer, and I told him he doesn't grow length, per se, just thickness. He didn't believe me,so this summer was the test.
(I was right)

Believe it or not, Nathan's hair is curly too. Kind of weird that we got 5 straight haired kids.
Lucas's hair is only curly when it is this long, and believe me, it will never be like this again! yuck!

Since summer is nearly over, lets do a freckle check:

Still only a few.
I wonder when they will "come in?"
