Market Day in 2nd Grade

What a week! A zoo field trip, a law suit, 2 well baby check ups, 2-10 page papers, Nathan's 36th Birthday, AND Market Day!

Before I back-blog about that...

What is Market Day?
It is when the 2nd graders pick a good or service, price it, and then sell it.
Lucas wanted to do Lemonade, but I told him that everyone was going to do that.
Then he said that he knew of at least 6 other kids were making a brownie or a cookie, so he didn't want to do that. He couldn't think of a service, so I suggested something that most people would like to eat anytime.

He picked Trail Mix! And he put a penny in each bag and labeled them "Lucas's Lucky Trail Mix"
He was very proud of his creation.
Pretzels, Goldfish, Raisins, Mini M&Ms and Honey Nut Cheerios. (plus a penny)

He made 50 bags and went on his merry way.

He planned on selling them for $1.00 but decided to up the price at the last minute.

They had to have a contract, a plan of action, and ideas for a quick sale.

Lucas was the first person to sell out. He was surprised to find out that I was right (why, I don't know, because Moms are usually right) because in all 4 second grade classes there were 11 drink stands. There was also a LOT of cookies and brownies.

After our fun day in Lucas's class, I joined him for lunch, and then helped out in Bridget's class.
While Bridget was at recess, I went back to Lucas's class where they discussed rent fees, and taxes. Oh the moaning that I heard. Lucas made $91! This was after a sale when it was knocked down to $1.00 in the last 15 minutes.

Then we came home, picked up Scarlett and went to TRU.
Scarlett had to pick out her present from Gigi.
She has always wanted a cash register.

Since we were out, we went to Gunther Toody's and you will never believe it, but we beat all the seniors there! Two elderly couples came up to us separately to tell us how well behaved our kids were.
Then, Nathan and I high fived and smiled.  We are doing something right! On the way out some lady told us she wished she had pretty redheads, hers were never that cute. HAHAHA

Then we decided to surprise the kids for dessert.
Nathan and I are 80s kids but never ever got to have these.

They were a hit! Then to continue on our 80s theme, we watched Full House.
This is currently Bridget's favorite show. Which Nathan likes because he is a little a lot like Danny Tanner.
Now I am off to go hug it out!

Hehhehehe.

Easter Sunday

We had a crazy morning. Mason cut his head, minutes before I was about to cut his hair and there was blood everywhere. He ended up being fine, but YUCK!

We decided to leave for church a little early and take a few pictures.
Not that matching is anything new for us, (because we match EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY) but it was Easter! And we were ready! And every one was in a good mood!
Scarlett was in a good mood right after I took this picture.LOL
No one was in a better mood than Mason. He LOVES bowties.
 And making this weird smile.
These boys KILL me. They are so adorable!
After I took this picture the sun came out and was beaming on my Itty Bitty Wittes.

Jules and her blue steel face.
The girls decided not to have poofy dresses this year, and I am glad because the ones I originally bought (and returned) 5 other little girls were wearing today!

What a good Sunday. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach Primary and explain what Easter really means. I love the video the church put out and and that my kids are starting to understand and explain gospel principles. Sigh, they are all growing up so fast!

Easter Fun, day 1

What a day! First, it started with the Ward Egg Hunt.
I took a quick picture of everyone before we left.

And with 5 kids, there are always some funny pictures.

Anyway, we made it to the egg hunt, and my kids shouted "bunnicula!"

 Get it?
After the activity started, the kids bolted to the fields.

The kids had fun with their old pals.
Robert, Lucas, Bridget and Larke pushing.

Mason and his best bud, Emmett.

S and her best friend E.

After food, we headed to the dealership to get my van back. 3 weeks is TOO long to not have a car!

Then we came home and decorated cookies and eggs.

It was a busy day, and I imagine tomorrow will be just as busy!
I love Easter Activities.

Piano Recital

Lucas had his second recital on Saturday. He was nervous because his songs were switched, and he was worried that he wouldn't memorize the songs in time. His teacher bet him a dollar that he could and would be able to memorize the songs, and sure enough he did it!

After his performance, he whispered in his teachers ear "you owe me a dollar" and she giggled and told everyone about the bet. It was cute.

My favorite part about the recital, was after Lucas's first song, he looked right at me and smiled so big, and then started the next song. What a sweetie.

I love this boy so much!

I tried to stay offline all day and hang with the kids because it was a beautiful day outside, and because they didn't have school. I have had a headache for 9 days and the kids were not trying to be horrible, but, I had a headache and broke down for a New York Minute. Then, Nathan got home and I was able to enjoy my day just a little bit better. LOL.

While I was making dinner, the girls read to each other, with voices and all.

My tulips decided today would be a great day to bloom.

I made my Lemon Bundt or "buundt" if you ask Bridget.

While I was assembling the pizzas Mason had a meltdown.

I was able to get him out of it quickly.

Then the pizzas were done. We had Steakhouse Pizza, Giant Pepperoni Pizza and a
Spanish Style Veggie Pizza.

I iced my cake, and then we couldn't wait any longer. We inhaled it!

The kids went to bed without complaint, and Nathan finished his tests and we watched Saving Mr. Banks.
Loved it. :)

Today (Saturday) Nathan took the kids on a 2.5 hour bike ride and I got some quiet crafting time! BEST.PRESENT.EVER!

Thirty Two-it is a little weird to be 32, but I am glad about where my life has taken me and all that I have accomplished! I feel like I am in a new phase of my life and think the next 10 years are going to be even more fun! I mean 10 years ago I didn't even like Nathan (romantically, personally, LOL) and now he is like my other half! CRAZY how that happens.
