Lucas's Scout Camp Adventures

Now that Lucas is finally a Deacon, he was able to go to Scout Camp.
Nathan was very happy to join him.

Most of the Deacons went. I think 3 were missing.
Lucas passed the swim test, but didn't really want to do the water stuff this year.
He cooked a few meals for the troop. (the were on a rotating schedule)
One of the favorite desserts was a cherry chocolate cake Nathan made.

One very exciting thing is that Lucas and Adam were asked to join the Order of the Arrow.
Another cool thing is that Lucas holds the Archery Record 47 our of 50.
Lucas also earned a service award and got a pretty sweet leatherman.
He worked tirelessly on service, the entire time he was at camp.
He also got 900 mosquito bites.
His ankle is very swollen here.

He earned 9 merit badges and can't wait for the COH next month!

Wittes say goodbye

Grandpa made omlettes.
Juliet could eat them!

Then they left for Utah, and we headed to swim!

I love that my neighborhood is still under construction. HAHA

We had a good time, and got the pavilion done. WAHOO!

Mouth Drama

 Poor Juliet

She has been to the Orthodontist, the dentist and back to the Ortho over the past 8 days.

Her permanent molar pushed a baby molar so hard, it died.
Then they accidentally cracked the dead tooth.

So, she had to have it pulled.

 Still swollen (below)
Then, we went to have this expander slingshot installed to make room.

The whole time, she was smiley and happy and I am just so impressed.
Now we wait for 3 weeks, and switch this out for a more permanent mouth piece. One that makes her less...lispy. or is it lithpy? Haha

Lucas is 12

We had the Bockholt's over for Mexican (Lucas's request) and had a very chill day.

Lucas spoke in church, he did a great job.
He wore a Grandpa Horn tie.

He received the priesthood, he also FINALLY gets to join scouts.

He had a BOR and is now a Star. Our stake insists they wait until they are 11 to do Scouts. (Eventhough he was done with Webelos in January '17)  He worked on merit badges until he turned 11. Then he joined scouts, and now he is the highest ranked Deacon. Crazy.

He also packed for Scout camp, which is tomorrow. Sigh.

It is weird to think we only have 6 years left with him...

The Pavillion

The day started out with Gary washing the windows. HAHA
Then church clean up, happened.

Then it was time for the Pavilion.
The concrete was all done, so today was as good as any.

The reason why Bridget is in a helmet, is because earlier, We dropped and split the post.
Right on her head. HAHA
I lost my cool, I'll admit it.
Nathan didn't. He is amazing like that.

I called for a replacement. We are getting one.
Thankfully.

I am really proud of Lucas. He worked hard, all day.  He is such a good kid.

It doesn't look very big in the picture, but believe me, it is huge. and so nice back there!

Wittes in Idaho

We spent the afternoon at Tautphus Park. The kids enjoyed themselves.

Then we visited Lydia at her SnoShack

It was a nice afternoon.
