I know you all have been DYING to see pictures for our awesome Florida trip but we forgot the cord to the camera, scratch that...NATHAN forgot the cord to the camera. Mmmhmmm that's right it was him! Anyway I managed to get one on to the laptop so here is one of Grandma, Bridget and Lucas on the beach. It was so beautiful - 78 degree high - low humidity and a slight breeze. It was almost not real. I laughed and laughed. Robert is one of Lucas's friends at church, and I think it is funny that he felt he needed to report this leaf problem to his friend. Haha

This is Bridget at 3 months, so this puts it at February 2008. We went for a walk because it was 55 and so beautiful, I think I blogged about it. :) She is so chubby too! Man, my kids are so big! :)

After ooogling over Emily's blog, I went back to mine to sign off and realized that the pictures I took last week reminded me of something...

I took a shower after Nathan fed the kids breakfast and went to work. I go into Bridget's room and this is what I see...
I had grabbed my camera just in time to see Lucas throw the last animal on Bridget. I asked him what he was doing and he said "She needs to be with her friends now" I said "Why?" He said "So I can leaf her in here for time out." "Why is she in time out?" He said "So I can play with Firetrucks alone" I then convinced him that she is going to have more fun if he stays in her room and plays with the friends and Bridget. He agreed.
(I don't think his plan would have worked anyway, she looked like she really liked timeout!)
I asked them to clean up so we could get dressed and Bridget then put Baby Bree in time out...
So I have received a few comments about how I transitioned my 1 year old into a toddler bed. Well, it isn't as hard as you think. I did this with Lucas as well and it worked out pretty well.
Week 1 - Put the bed in the room with the crib
Week 2 - Naps in the toddler bed, try Bedtime in the bed.
Week 3 - Take the crib out so it isn't an option anymore.
The best part is that she can't reach the door knob so it really isn't a fight. I also took away her morning nap so that she would be tired enough to stay in bed for nap time.
It also helps that she has been crawling in and out of Lucas's bed for months now, and has always wanted to be in his bed! :)
Please also note that I have another baby coming in 3 months, so I need to get Bridget out so this baby has a place to stay! Hahaha

What went down
this weekend...
Lucas couldn't handle seeing all of the presents on the table so we busted them open first thing Friday morning. Nathan took the day off so we had a great breakfast and then continued on our day.
Bridget's favorite things were the 2 cabbage patches and the purse. My favorite things were the beautiful clothes that Grandma and Grandpa Horn got Bridget. Lucas's favorite thing was the horse and carriage. She received many things, so thanks to everyone who thought about her this year! After the pictures and presents we went outside to rake the leaves because...I promised.
Then we went to get pictures taken, had some lunch and then went to Kathy's to drop off the kids. Why did we drop off the kids...because I had my ultrasound!!! Guess what...
On Bridget's official Birthday (Saturday) we did our little tradition....listen to Lucas he knows all the words! :)A Birth Story
Okay-so we had her pictures taken yesterday after she opened all of her presents, which I am glad for because my parents bought her some pretty cute clothes! :)She was a super sport through them, and we even managed to get a hilarious picture of Lucas and Bridget that we are going to be sending in our Christmas cards this year! :)
These are only a few of the ones that we bought, because out of the 90 pictures that they took only 6 of them were bad ones! :) They used all of the ones in the solid pink dress for a training that they are having next week! All of the photographers were oohing and awwing at our kids and I have to say that I loved every minute of it! :)
Not to mention Bridget who just happened to flirt with the male photographer at the end and where we got Nathan's favorite picture of her (see below)
Okay so the birth story for those who care: I went in at 6:30
but wasn't supposed to be there till 9:30...oops! :) My doctor wasn't supposed to be there but she had an emergency C-Section and stopped in our room before the C-Section-she asked if I would wait till she was done before they started to enduce me and I said fine, so they gave me cervidil and I waited my 4 hour wait to start labor.
At 3ish they started round 2 of the cervidil, because I was at a 4 and progressing nicely without pictocin, and wasn't in any pain. We watched some movies, talked to family and then at 8:30pm I was at a 6, Dr. Kim (the best Kaiser doctor ever) broke my water and said I could have an epidural. The anestheseiologist came in tried 4 times to get that sucker of an epidural in and then he left. I told Nathan I couldn't feel anything because the epidural was not in my system yet and then all of a sudden I yelled to Nathan (at 9:07) Umm, She is coming, Nathan laughed and said yeah right, looked down and could see her head, Nathan ran to the door to get the doctors to come to our room and the Docotors yelling down the hall, "We know, we are coming!" Nathan runs to my rescue and Bridget is almost all the way out. (I had not even started pushing yet) The doctor said "DON'T PUSH" I said "I'm not" I was crying because I couldn't hold her in and his gloves weren't even on yet! Nathan almost had to catch Bridget bare handed! She was out in 30 seconds! The only thing I had to push ot was the placenta! Hahaha Bridget was born at 9:14pm! Like always she had to do it herself! :) **Note to everyone this was my second delivery without pain meds because the kids came out too fast!**

Self Image
I laugh at people who tell me my kids don't look alike, I laugh when people tell me that Bridget has a cleft chin and Lucas doesn't (they both do). I laugh when Lucas tells me that he wants to be Brown like Bridget so he can be a Horn like Grandpa, but I do not laugh when Lucas sees someone on the television and he says "That's Lucas, Mommy!" No, at least he is getting it right, because of the hair color but I am starting to notice something. Lucas thinks he is UGLY! Is self image taught or learned?
