Ice Cream for Firemen!

We had Ice Cream for Dinner to support the Firemen of Thornton!
So we ate some Ice Cream and Scarlett was mad she couldn't do it herself.
This cannot be my kid!  She is such a dirty mess!
I got bubblegum ice cream and it wasn't as good as it used to be...I should have stuck to my favorite...chocolate peanut butter!
While I was eating Mackenzie and Rayden from our ward stopped by...
My kids LOVE Mackenzie and Rayden.  They ask if they can come over and play ALL of the TIME!
Then to the real stuff...they got to go inside and the Fireman is laughing because Lucas told him EVERYTHING he knows about firetrucks...for instance:
"Some fire 'apartments' (departments) paint their trucks yellow so they can see them at night"
"Firetrucks are super 'spensive (expensive) they cost as much as 40 cars!"
Then Bridget gets in and says "I look cute right mommy?"
A Firetruck!
Sparky!
Since this whole event was FOR the Firemen, the kids gave the donation box $2 each.
I need to mention that Chrystal and the kids were there too...see Chrystal's wound (below)
It was funny to hear Nathan tell us that Bridget and Ellie were so much alike...we (me and Chrystal) giggled because we already knew that! Hahaha.
They got coloring books, bracelets, badges...it was really cool.
And Scarlett looked like this the whole time!
After the ice cream I decided we would go get fries from McDonalds and Scarlett was pleased with that idea...
After a through wipe down in the van! YUCK!

My Moment

So I know its Nathan's Birthday and all but I had something cool to share.
After obsessing with Make-It-And-Love it, and taking notes on how to alter things...

I turned this...
One of my favorite Maternity Shirts.
Into this...
A cute summer play dress!
Bridget could live in these if I let her, so I thought I would
make her some that she could literally play and get dirty in!
It also helps that Yellow looks great on her!
Here is the back.  Super cute right?
I made it up as I went and learned a few things about myself and my machine and I learned that I want a serger. Hahaha.
It is perfect for twirling and dancing.
And showing off her hot pink panties!  Haha, guess I will need to buy some white ones!
I think she likes it...what about you?
Move over Tyra!  She is America's Next Top Model!

I had plenty of extra fabric...maybe I will add fabric flowers to the top...
Thank you to all of those sites out there who make it look so easy because it was! And Thanks to Chrystal who showed me some simple sewing steps!

Chinese Water Torture

...for kids! This is a fun activity to do when it is hot in your house and your kids are being crazy! :)

First you need this...
Why was this even out? Well I was practicing hair styles on Scarlett...
Well that is where it all started...
I told them I was going to aim for their mouth, but the giggling and flinching was just too much fun for me, so I chased them all around the house squirting them.
I mean it was hilarious I almost peed my own pants!
Even Scarlett got into it, she was pushing the kids to get out of her way.
It was so much fun until Nathan told me that we just talked about Earth Day and conserving and here I am watering the walls.  What a party pooper!
So Lucas surrendered, and Nathan wiped the walls down and then we had FHE.

It was fun and when they least expect it I'm going to do it again!
LOL!
I guess I can't blame Lucas for THIS since I totally get it now! Hahahahaha

Fondue FHE

We went to a friends house for a Fondue night and a Nature Walk and an FHE lesson!  It was so much fun.  Chrystal made the dinner and cheese sauces and I was in charge of dessert.  It was really delicious and a fun time with Ryan and Chrystal, Greg and Tara and our little bunch!

Scarlett was so fussy that she wouldn't calm down for me or Nathan, thank goodness that Tara aka the baby whisperer calmed her down and I am so grateful that she didn't mind taking her!  Little did I know she would cut 3 teeth later that night! AAAH!
I made a dark chocolate and a white chocolate fondue, with WAAAY too many dippers, but it was good! :)
The whole way home the kids were talking about how much fun it was and how they want to do it again...
I think we should!

My favorite part was of course using my fondue pot! :)
and hanging out with friends! :)

April Festivities

Nathan and I both have birthdays in April.  My Dad has a birthday in April, his mom has a birthday in April, my future brother in law has a birthday in April, My Grandpa and Great Grandma had birthdays in April, lets just say August WAS a "Busy" month for both sides of our family. Hehehe.

Since birthdays are a huge deal to me, we decided to do what we usually do which is celebrate in the middle of my and Nathan's birthday this year we partied on Friday April 16th.  We went to Texas Roadhouse and then went to go see How to Train your Dragon with the kids.  It was nice to take them out on a date this year instead of us going.  Bridget decided to be well, herself at the movie theater and was just a crazy mess and climbing everywhere through the whole thing.  Lucas was fully engrossed in the movie since it was his first time in a theater.  Scarlett played on the stairs and was pretty good.

The kids needed to do something on my actual birthday (11th) so they snuck in the kitchen and made a cake for my birthday because they wanted cake.  They haven't realized that I am not a cake person, but I said thanks and let them eat it up!
They were so behaved and quiet and eager to lick the spoon.
Scarlett lounged with her feet propped up.
It was fun. Here they are at Dinner.
Here they are at the Movie.
And for Nathan's birthday we celebrated it today since his schedule on his actually brithday (27th) is currently unknown we planted and weeded the garden. (his choice)
But not before a little nap after church...
now on to planting...
but first we need some shades! Hahaha.
each kid got to pick their own flowers on Friday.
Time to dig right in!
Scarlett was in charge of the hose.
Toes in the dirt...FUN!
More Popsicles!
Hugs!
Then we made twice baked brownies...a la mode (his favorite)

It was a good 28th birthday for me and a good 32nd birthday for Nathan.
I love you babe!
