Thanksgiving 2013

What a weekend! Jared and Erin were in town and we had some fun times with them. Unfortunately, it is never enough time when you are with family. :)

Uncle Chris is always fun for a game or two...

Mason was helping grandma set the table.

Elsa and Uncle Jared!

She is adorable!!!

The men smoking and deep frying the turkeys.

Elsa was loving Uncle Nathan. He could get her to smile and coo and Juliet too!

Hannah and Bridget coloring in the basement loft.

Lucas played pool with the men. Jared taught him how. Lucas loooooved being with the big boys.

Bridget had some serious grown up girl bonding time:

 Fried:
 Smoked:

 The men washed dishes.

A candid moment.

A real moment:

A sweet moment:

A tender moment:

It was a fun day with the Witte Family.
Makes me miss my own family that much more.

Sweet Scarlett's Stitches

Poor Scarlett.

This little girl is growing so much.

I think so fast that her body can't keep up with her brain.

Because of this, she is very clumsy.

I don't mean like a little clumsy, I mean extremely clumsy.

This little girl ran RIGHT into the frame of the door, where the metal piece is.

She hit it so hard we have to get a new one.

She hit it so hard, she had to get stitches.

We drove to 2 hospitals and Children's is where its at!

She got numbing cream, and it didn't end up working.
She actually needed 2 shots of Novocaine, poor baby.

They educated her before she had to get stitches. She was a little nervous.

We left with a band aid, 6 stitches and a teddy bear.

And, wouldn't ya know...she fell AGAIN on her way out!
*Sigh*

Here she is a few days later...

Ugggggly! Luckily, I already took their Christmas pics a few weeks ago,
before the leaves changed to yellow...

While she still had both eyebrows. Haha.

 More Christmas pics later!
She gets her stitches out on Saturday, I hope we don't have to go back to Children's for a long time.

Scarlett's good friend, E came over to give Scarlett a hug and something to do since she had to miss school. It was so cute.:)

6 dates! (part 3 of 3)

We had to break it up into two days so Grandma and Grandpa Witte could watch the babies (and Lucas) for the day!

Date FOUR!
American Girl!

Bridget knew all of the girls names of the historical dolls. She has seen all of the movies, and wants the books for Christmas. She is as obsessed as I was when I was a little girl.

Date FIVE!
Try fancy foods! We went to Bonannao's and she had:
Tuna Tartare (a first for Nathan too)
 Grilled Artichokes
Which smelled SO good and tasted SO good
Thanks to Fancy Nancy, everthing was "exquisite or divine"
She tried Scallops
She also had Carbonara Pizza which is Nathan and my favorite pizza. It has an egg in the middle and when you cut into it - it oozes and is SO good.

For Dessert she had Gelato!
Cherry Chocolate and Pistachio

We were being so silly.

Date SIX
Surprise!
Since Bridget loves adventure we took her racing. She was an inch too short to drive herself, but she didn't mind.

It was a fun time, and we were given free tickets to see an early premiere of FROZEN 3D on Wednesday, so Bridget is pretty thrilled about that!

6 dates! (part 2 of 3)

When our kids turn 6 they get 6 dates. This is better than presents, or anything else, because those dates are WITHOUT any other kids! But, what usually happens is that the birthday person feels bad for their siblings and ends up inviting them to something. That happened with Lucas, and it actually did with Bridget as well. Which totally surprised me because she loves to have all of the attention, all of the time.

Date ONE!
Special Breakfast

Date TWO
Charming Charlies!
Seriously a dream come true for this little girl!
Me, not so much.

My sister suggested that I have Bridget ask someone to help her because I hate all that stuff, and this guy Braynson tiptoes on over. He had a higher pitched voice and kind of a different walk than Bridget was used to and she whispered to me "that guy is fabulous!" I asked what do you mean and she said "you know like those people who say 'that's so fabulous' on fashion shows.
*sigh* So innocent.

GiGi picked the perfect gift for the Bridgey Girl.

Date THREE
Monkey Business. She felt it wouldn't be fair to go to a place that everyone would love, so all the kids came for this one. :)

It was such a fun day with my Goose.
I thought the kids would be jealous, but they know their time is coming...I mean the next birthday is in like 3 weeks. In the Witte's house it is always a party (birthday) or just random fun.
