Wedding/Anniversary/Hubby Tag by Danielle

Just when I thought I was done filling these things out...
I get tagged again! It is bad luck to not respond to these! Grrr...

Well, I had my anniversary on February 5th.. Here is the POST about that...
Ten Happy Anniversary Things:
1. How did we meet?
I was walking into the Alkire building at an FHE activity and I noticed this guy I hadn't seen before. So I walked up to him and said hi and told him what our activity was and then he said to me that I was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen. I turned BRIGHT RED and said oh I am sure you say that to everyone and he said no you are the first. I walked away so fast and hit the chapel door, more embarrassed, I ran in the chapel and told Veronica and Ryan that some dude told me I was beautiful! I was like giddy it was so weird. They said who was it? I said I don't know him. Then 5 minutes later Ryan introduces his brother Nathan and I about collapsed. I was so embarrassed that I didn't talk to him the whole night and then Ryan and Veronica "set me up" with him against my will...the rest is sure to follow in this tag...

2. What was your ice breaker?
There really wasn't one, he asked me questions and I was cold and answered them with one word. (I was still embarrassed) He was persistent though!
*
3. First date and what did you do?
February 5, 2004 After work Veronica and Ryan told me that Shana Olsen cancelled on a date with Nathan and that I had to go. I didn't want to and then they said they were going to Maggiano's...of course I went! They are so sneaky!
Our second first date (when I actually started to like him) was July 8, 2004 we went to Maggiano's again and he remembered what I liked! IMPRESSIVE!
*
4. Who kissed who first?
We had just dropped Ryan and Veronica off at the airport (for their honeymoon) and I cried the whole way back to the apartment...partly because Nathan slammed my finger into the 15-seater van and partly because I missed Veronica and I thought she wouldn't be my friend anymore since she was married. (give me a break people I was only 21) Anyway we got back to the apartment and we were talking and then POW! he laid one on me. Veronica was right! (she told me at the airport he was going to do it...she said she had a feeling)
*
5. Who asked who to marry?
Which time? Haha Just kidding. He asked me in the primary room at Veronica's wedding and I thought he was joking. Then everyone asked us the date of our wedding. I guess they just knew it was right! He asked me again for real while we were taking our engagement pictures with Jeanne DeShazer. I think she was shocked. He got down on one knee and I yelled at him for getting his pants wet. He couldn't help but laugh because I didn't know what he was doing. He was so sweet and said the most beautiful things to me and then I said that is so great now get up and lets finish taking these pictures...Stephanie (my sister) is still waiting for us in the apartment!

6.What do you love about him?best physical feature? personality?
What I love about him: I love the way he loves me. Everyday he treats me like he is lucky to have me in his life. Sometimes its words, sometimes it's by doing something, but every time its special. When he hugs me or kisses me it's like he is doing it for the first time, like he wants me to know how much it means to him to have me in his life.
Physically: His body he is covered in muscles and not the gross body builder kind. He looks like a surfer, minus the great tan! Hahaha He takes care of his body and I love that he is in such great shape...all 175 pounds of him.
Personality: One thing I love about him is how much he cares about his family. He worries about all of them and would do anything to help any one of them out. He wishes he could spend more time with them, if only they liked him. I love that he would do anything for anyone and that he is a no questions asked kind of guy. He is EXTREMELY PATIENT and I think that is why we work so well...because I am not.

7. Wedding date and where?
February 5, 2005 at the Denver, Colorado Temple and at Morningside Manor in Arvada
*
8. Why did you get married?
As Nathan would say, because we are a great team. We could conquer the world and at the end still be on the same side. I knew that no matter what all I needed was him. Any trial or problem I could handle if he was with me. He brought the best out in me all of the time. If I hadn't married him he would still be in Oklahoma sad and lonely.
It's like I always say..."Someone had to marry him!"
*
9. How many love babies do you have?
Two at the moment:
above: Lucas Brendan born July 15, 2006 and
Bridget Louise born Nov 8, 2007 below
I am sure more are to follow.
*
10. Do you love each other more, less or just as much as you did the day you got married?
I can say that I love him more, but that is because I know him more. I love him as a father and friend and husband of course but I love the things that he does and the way he loves me.
*
11. What were your wedding colors and flowers?

White, Red and Silver. I know those are every one's colors but when I got married no one else had those colors, in fact everyone thought it was weird that I had a red rose bouquet, so there! I am a trend setter! My bridesmaids wore red and had white bouquets.

TAG from Megan

Ok... so this one is called "Dirty Laundry" and it is about 7 things that are quirky about yourself. So here goes. I hope you all still love me after you read about my habits:

1. I love RANCH DRESSING. I know this isn't a big deal, but every home in america has Ranch Dressing in their fridge except my parents! Isn't that bizarre? I am very particular about my dressings, and I have to have Ranch with a lot of things so now I know that I need to bring Ranch to my parents house next September!

2. I love TAKING PICTURES! This is almost obsessive for me. I take my camera everywhere and I don't care if people think it's weird. I have 4 cameras in my possession and I usually have one on my person at all times.

3. I don't like to PUT THINGS AWAY like laundry or the dishes or anything like that. I don't mind washing or folding or getting it ready to be put away, but I don't like putting it in its designated area. ESPECIALLY silverware. If I unload the dishwasher I leave the silverware for Nathan.

4. I really like to make LISTS. I make them everyday and crossing things out excites me. Accomplishing things makes me very happy. My husband is a lot like me in that way. I am a doer.

5. I am a NEAT FREAK. My house is almost always clean, and my kids have inherited this from me. Lucas will clean up before bed and Bridget will watch me clean and when I am done, she will come in and play. Everything in my house has a place, whether it is labeled or a bin made for that specific thing. I hate my house being chaotic, it's like my Dad told me one time if you meet a girl and go into her car and it is a mess you know her brain is a mess. I guess that means that if she spends a lot of time in her car and she can't even keep that clean what is going on in her head? I was 16 when he told me this but since I have been married I know this to be true. I am very, very organized. I thank my dad for that trait! (people in his office know if he is gone for the day by the status of his desk...if it is empty he is gone for the day, if there is stuff on it...he's still there)

6. I have a bad habit of THE 7 AM CALL. We are all up by 6:30 in the morning. We are ready by 7 and I try to get everything done by 10. Even on Saturdays. Nathan gets to sleep in sometimes till 7am but we are out the door by 8. We like to do all of our errands by 11 and I rather like spending the rest of my Saturday at home, to play or go to the park or just hang out. I DO NOT like to do ANY ERRANDS past 1pm. I also like to call people at 8am because I figure they are all up just like me. Nathan usually makes me wait till 9 though...grrr.

7. I love MATCHING my family. We have always matched on Sundays but now I like to do it every chance I get. When we go on a trip I plan outfits so we can all match. Crazy I know.

So now here's the part where I tag my friends: Liz, Danielle, and Rachel C.

Hangin' Out with the Bainbridges

Well, they are not Bainbridges anymore, but it still felt like old times.

Abby, Emily and Lucas had a great little morning. They all played together and then Desi and Cherstin pulled out the pool and they played outside and had fun. Abby was very into Bridget and Lucas loved playing with the girls. He is the youngest but you couldn't tell with all of the giggling!

Music Monday #2

I wanted to save these pictures for Music Monday because it totally fits! Happy Monday!

Last week on Wednesday we had to go emergency babysit the Jones's. Which was actually fine with us because Lucas LOVES Larke. He licks her almost every Sunday. It is this thing he has done since she was born (2 months after him.) They are great little friends. Lucas and Larke grabbed some guitars and were totally jamming out on the stairs. Bridget was sitting there watching and so Lucas got up and grabbed a guitar for Bridget. He is nice like that...sometimes. Anyway they were playing for a good 30 minutes and I of course took pictures because it was so FREAKING cute. Here they are...
Lucas is putting on the moves

Larke is so enthralled

What, you were watching us?

Date Night (Friday 7/25)

...for Lucas that is. He was very responsible by asking Anna Sollis over for dinner and Calliou and cookies and a project. It was much cheaper than taking her out to a movie and then dinner. He is just like his dad in that respect...THRIFTY. Just Kidding. Hahaha

Anna's parents went out and we had Anna over. They live just down the street from us so it was very convenient. Our night started out with a fine dinner of Corn Dogs and Tater Tots...Anna's choice. If you look closely, Lucas has packed 3 corn dogs into his mouth before I took this picture.
After dinner we watched Calliou then came up to the kitchen to start cookies with Nathan.
After we put the cokies in the oven we started the art project. We tore up all of the paper and then Anna and Lucas had a belly contest. I think Anna wins this one...this time...
Bridget wanted in on the action....
I asked the kids what they wanted to make Anna said a house with a tree and Lucas said a Truck (suprise, suprise) I made the shapes with glue and then they stuck the paper on the glue. Here are the finished products...

Then more Calliou and some cookies. After that we read some books and off to bed. Everyone had a great time! I hope Anna can come over again. Lucas loved it.

A fun visit

We finally had time to go visit Ali and Ethan. We hadn't seen them for almost 2 months! We got there and Lucas wanted to go inside so we waited for Kandi and the kids to get there but they were going to be a few more minutes so we went inside (I had a key) So we go inside and Lucas is yelling "Allllliiiii" over and over again and he tells me "mommy, she is ni-nite" He automatically went to the trucks, because he figured they were still there (which they were) and started to play when Ethan walks in and scared Lucas with a BOO! Lucas said hi to Ethan and then ran right past him to give Ali a hug and a kiss. For the first 7 minutes all he did was hug and kiss her. He really missed her. Then the fun began...
Ali and Bridget had a fun time snuggling and walking around.
*
Lucas liked being with the big boys Kenyon and Ethan.
*
Lucas Knocked out Ethan!

Ahh, to see them again was great, to see how my son never tans well, that is just plain hillarious. Bridget looks like a Siracusano with how tan she has become. I love it, I love and miss them too!

Lucas cried the entire way home so I guess we will be doing that again really soon. I can't take the heartache. :)

Music Monday

I was sitting watching Lucas's favorite show with him this morning as I usually do, and right before it was over I realized that we hadn't done a project in a long time. At my house Lucas only get's an hour of TV in the morning so this was perfect timing. I went into my recipe box of ideas and pulled one out, and I have decided that every Monday from now on we will be doing Music Mondays. If you want to join us, just call me and we can set up a music date!

This week we made water xylophones.
We opted to do 6 instead of 8 and it worked out just fine. We filled up each mason jar with 1 cup and each one got one more cup until we reached 6 cups.
Then we put food coloring in them, to make them look cool.
Then we headed outside and went to town. I love Bridget pooping in this last picture! Hahaha.
I am ready mom!
We played music for about an hour talked about the Jamaican sounds and then had a picnic lunch in the grass. Bridget wasn't really into it, so I let her bang on my metal bowls and we had a mini band outside. I wish I had my harmonica! It's packed away somewhere, DANG!

Here is Lucas concentrating...

Happy Monday everyone!

The Flying Persimmon!

Well, the Flying Tomato was taken! Shaun White gold metalist in snowboarding and winner of several events in skateboarding's X-Games is pretty popular. Today when the kids woke up from nap I was still watching olympic trials and went to turn it when Lucas yells at me "stop kateboarding, kateboarding, back!!!" So I go back to some competition on NBC where boys are skateboarding, as they go up he yells woah and yeah, and then when they fall he says "oh, maaaan" (like swiper the fox) He laughs and thinks that they are so "coo" and cheers and then it is time for Shaun White. The not-so-cute-21-year-old 's turn. He does several tricks and Lucas gets up and screams: "Yes! That is Dowas!" Now Dowas means Lucas when Lucas is talking. I said that is Dowas? he said "oh yes mommy that is me" I then think to myself, why him, he is so not cute! Why couldn't he pick my favorite skateboarder Tony Hawk? I mean everyone who has ever lived with me or visited my apartment has seen how many Tony Hawk action figures I own. Lucas now plays with them and calls them dude.

He is so much better looking, and anyone knows that looks matter when competing in a skateboarding championship. Yeah, yeah I know what you are all thinking he's 40 and that is so old, but seriously if you were trapped in a room with one guy who would it be...not the red-head that's for sure! :) Hahaha

Okay, Okay back to my story. So Bridget comes up to me and is standing up cherring by wailing when the men go up, and laughing when they go down. It must have looked like an amusement park ride! Well, anyway thank you NBC for entertaining my 2 year old and my 8.5 almost 9 month old for 45 minutes. It was quite entertaining.

For those of you thinking what action figures is she talking about here they are...

and yes I know I need help! There are 5 in all and I own all 5.

Two: A day of celebration!

Our day started out with Nathan and I singing the birthday song. We do it every year. CLICK HERE for last year. This is the LINK to this year. Bridget was quite entertaining this time. His 2 year check up was also today with Dr. "ruce" (Bruce) Lucas is 31 pounds, and 37 inches (too bad we didn't have that on paper for Legoland) He is in the 80th percentile for head, 119th for height and 74th for weight. The doctor called him a rusty string bean 'cause of his red hair and 'cause he's skinny!
Then we went to "my party" "my park" and "dowa" The 3 things he really wanted to to this morning. So here's the slide show of the party, the park and Noah. I played it simple this time. Build your own lunchables and create your own cupcakes! Easy and the mess isn't at my house!
Then we went to the fish store to pick up some new friends:

Meet Rachel and Roxie, the Rainbow Tetras and Caspa and Dingo the White Red-Eyed Tetras. 2 of each, and you can't see Hiccup, Lucas's African Dwarf Frog, he is our digger of the bunch.
Lucas named them himself, and I think they were inspirations from a few books we have been reading from the Library but oh well. The saddest thing about these fish and frog was that Lucas thought that he would get to see Ali his old pal now that he had fish like her. Isn't that so sweet?

Nathan came home and Lucas was so cute showing him his fishes. I asked Nathan to change him and Bridget so I could get his last suprise outside. Nathan did and then we had Lucas come out side to "help me" He came out and on the driveway he saw..."BIIIIIIKE!!"
Of course he had to ride it as soon as he saw it and he did really well. My big boy is 2 and a big bike rider! So cool.He sure made out this year on presents! But look at that face, it says to me...
"mom, get out of my way, i'm riding here!"

Two, I two!

I love this kid! I mean LOVE this kid. Now that he is two and talking and independent he is even better than he was before. But the biggest thing for me is that he FINALLY has all of his teeth! Last year (on his first birthday) he only had 2 bottom teeth!

Lucas has an awesome sense of humor, he is outgoing, friendly and not afraid of anything. He loves food, and loves to share everything with "Digit." He loves to play outside and play with anyone who is willing. He is a big helper to me and his daddy and wants to drive a fire truck someday. He really wants a bike and a frog for his birthday, at least that is what he keeps telling me. :) He is such a good boy, and we love having him around. I guess we will keep him for another two years and re-evaluate if he is still a "keeper!" :) HAHAHA
