Observations

I love Springtime in Colorado especially when my tulips are blooming and when the birds wake you up at 5:30am tweeting away because you left your windows open all night.  Ahh yes.

Look at these babies!
I love the shade from our cottonwood tree but do not like the mess before the leaves.
It is the pods and these sticky suckers that make playing outside hard...
They are sticky and stain and smell but this is easily taken care of if you mow the lawn, so guess what Nathan did...mowed it up!

We officially had our first popsicles of the season!
Then it was time to pull out the cool water toys from GiGi courtesy of the gift card she sent for Scarlett's birthday!
Scarlett didn't realize the magnitude of her descision to walk right up to the sprinkler, until it was too late...
She was drenched in less than 2 minutes...
Lucas and Bridget loved running around the sprinkler.
Bridget was fully dressed and refused to take her shoes off.
The girl was totally soaked!
They were having such a good time!
They were happy and laughing and running and playing.
And then the phone rang. So I went inside to get it. When I came back outside I saw this...
How did this happen I was only on the phone for 5 minutes.  Lucas shouts he needs to go potty and I turn around and saw this...
I don't know what made me laugh more, the fact that he was in his undies too
or the fact that they are on backwards!
I was insisting on them putting their clothes back on but Nathan said it wasn't that big of a deal. So I embraced it...
It was a fun little day outside, and I got my grass cut and cleaned (see behind)
Nathan pulled up some roots...
And I stayed dry!

The Littlest

It is hard being the 3rd kid.
Nothing is new to you.
You are always too little.
You want to be alone, but always get into trouble.
Everything is funny to you but not to anyone else.
Things that are easy to everyone else are hard to you.
Its easy to be loud and cry, but no one else likes it.
Messes and you seem to always be in the same sentence.
I get it, you are curious and just want to know.

I love you my littlest, someday you will catch up!

Arvada Kite Festival

The 8th Annual Arvada Kite Festival was held on Saturday this year and we were able to go!  I was worried about it not being windy enough but it totally was!
The kids and Nathan worked hard on getting the kites up.
Lucas was so happy that he could do it all by himself!
Bridget was worried that she would blow away.
Scarlett didn't care and after I took this picture she let go of the kite and Nathan and the kids had to chase it all over the park! Hahaha. It was so funny!
Lucas wanted to try his kite again.  We love Yo Gabba Gabba, seriously!
I love this picture!
If you are wondering where all of the people are we got there early (15 minutes as usual) we got a great parking spot and were able to spread out and get our kites up!
I love this guy!
Then we decided to put the kites in the van and walk around the park and to the vendors.
They were giving away a ton of free stuff and one thing that the kids loved were these gliders.
They flew these around for a while and then we went to the park to play.
After that we played the games at each spot and then ran into the Texas Roadhouse Tent...they were GIVING AWAY RIBS!!!
Scarlett wouldn't share!
She loves her some ribs!

Then we saw this really awesome tent that had a cartoonist and you told him an animal and he drew it and then you got to paint it. Bridget picked her favorite animal an ELEPHANT...
After this the kids - I mean Lucas saw the police area and we had to go over there...
Lucas told the police man everything he knew about police-cycles and the Policeman asked Lucas if he wanted to be a Police Officer when he grew up and he said...
"Nope, I am going to be a Fire Chief and a Daddy.
But not like my daddy, because he makes church too long"
(Nathan is Lucas's teacher at church)
The police man asked Bridget what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said
"Umm, a Bunny!"
We all got a great laugh from that.
We decided that we needed to hit the jumping castles.
Then it was time for a little snack.
So we sat and watched some of the contests while enjoying Funnel Cakes!
Trust me they were sooooo good!
Here was our view...
It was so cool to see all of the kites, they had over 150 entires and we saw a bunch of people we knew from the Singles Ward.  We ate peanuts and then it was time to go.
Scarlett was mad that the ribs were gone!

I love the things we do as a family, I am lucky that Nathan enjoys outings as much as I do and I hope we continue to do more! :)

Evolution of "Things"...

Do you remember last year when I had Scarlett and I took these pictures, made them my header and then made my kids take pictures all of the time in these outfits?

Here are my favorite ones...
You are slowly remembering right???
So even though I didn't post all of them, I did this once a month for an entire year.  Printed them out and turned them into a book and you know what?  It is so cute!

My all time favorite picture from these many photo sessions is this one...
It was taken ONE YEAR ago today!
Scarlett was a little over a month, and just a floppy little thing.
What a difference a year makes right...

Here are some of the photos that we took today to finish the book...
Lucas has such a great smile, I don't comment on that enough!
He is also a GREAT Big Brother!
She isn't so floppy anymore...now she is a sweet little girl with an awesome sense of humor!
No really, she is great!
This one is weird but I like it...they look frightened...I didn't even have to say cold shower!
Much better!
Bridget is a ham.
She is a Great Big Sister!
Scarlett is a great addition to our family.
She fits right into the mix of silliness and giggles.

I love my Itty Bitty Wittes!
