I knew we would be okay. The kids generally "like" being around me and Nathan and in turn, each other. We know how to have a good time. We know how to take quiet isolated times. Our challenge was going to make it fun. Most people don't care about this. They would happily ignore their kids, give them more screen time, but not us.
Day 1:
So, We decided as a parental unit to make the best of this unknown amount of time by doing something unusual or out of the ordinary everyday. Today was decorate cupcakes. They enjoyed this. We also decided to reward "the most agreeable child" with some sort of treat/reward. Today was Juliet. She earned herself a Countrytime Blueberry Lemonade.
Both of these things we did helped us get through randoms in the pantry and made the day less boring. Ha! Everyone got their stuff done, everyone got some outside time, everyone did some sort of schoolwork, and it was a pretty chill day for them. They all applauded Mason for his penmanship which he has been working on for most of his life.
Quarantine Day 2:
Our unusual activity today was Brain Flake Challenges. We were worried they wouldn't like this (L&B) but we've watched enough Lego Masters that challenges are fun now. 😂 so, I timed them, told them the challenge and they voted for each other. They were rewarded with cookies. It was a good 2 hour break. Everyone did some sort of schoolwork, all chores were done, and we didnt have electronics today.
Our most agreeable child today was Scarlett and she earned a pair of weird socks that we found while cleaning a holiday bin. Win!

My kids are changing so much. It is really surreal to watch.
