Lame Snow Day Success

Our School District never has a snow day. So, you can imagine my surprise when they called one at 7pm last night. I had some fun plans in mind and was hoping we would truly be "snowed in."

Well, we woke up this morning and nada. I mean we had snow, but nothing like we have had in the past.  Lucas was bummed. He would have rather gone to school. Haha.

Anyway, we discovered something quite incredible when we went outside today.  Check out our tree...

It was covered in ICE!
We were the only people on the street with this "problem."

Our sprinklers had been on and it caused this ice land.

All of the droplets had frozen causing these globules...

All over the yard. All over everything.

They were HUGE.

These were the stairs!

I cracked off an icicle and let the kids play with them.
We measured, and observed and enjoyed this phenomena.

I spy a Mace...

Even though we didn't get much snow...we did get to play with this ice.

So, that is a cool success, in my book!

Double Header

Lucas had his first EVER baseball game today!

The best part is that he had 2 games back to back!

Lucas was so excited and nervous, but actually did a GREAT job.

His first position was 3rd base and he did such a great job, Coach Brian moved him to 1st base.
1st base was originally reserved for players that can catch the ball, because everyone throws it to 1st base after the hit. Lucas actually did better in 1st.

Lucas had the biggest cheering squad. :)

It was finally time to bat. We noticed something strange about Lucas hitting...

He bats as a lefty!
We tried to switch him, but he quickly exclaimed "I just can't do it that way."

This was what he was most nervous about and he hit it on the first try each time. Super Awesome Job!

They won both games.

Lucas was proud of his hits and runs.

It was a great day.

Bubba Duke's BBQ

Uncle Ben started a new venture! He has his own food cart business!

Today was his opening day, and the Rockies opening day too!

The girls and Mason were excited to go!
Lucas and Nathan were so mad they couldn't make it.

This was a great location, and it was right in front of where Mason's perinatologist office was...so we stopped in to show off how awesome Mason has been doing. :)

Uncle Chris took orders and money and Ben did his cookin' thang...

We were one of the first ones there. *shocker*
Scarlett thought the slight wind was like being in the frozen tundra and complained about being cold pretty much all morning.

We had the pulled pork sandwich with a corn muffin. They dug right into that.

Then we shared the Nachos. (minus jalapenos)

Bridget ordered Sweet Potato Chips.

Then the kids played a bit.

It was packed full of people and it was only 12:15!

Mason just wanted more meat...

 He was mesmerized by Ben.

It was like on that Bush's Baked Bean commercial when he says "roll that beautiful bean footage"

The place was hoppin when we left.

It was nice to see Ben, Danielle, and Chris. It was even better to be outside eating delicious food and watching people drink "yucky grown up juice."

I can't wait for our summer to be sponsored by Bubba Duke's BBQ...when ever we can get it!

If you are in Denver, like them on FB to see where they are next!

Elder Chris is Home!

One thing I am grateful for is that my kids get first hand experiences with Missionaries. We have seen Uncle Ben go to Brazil, and now Uncle Chris has just come home from Pennsylvania. We have one more Uncle to go before the cousins start to leave for missions.

Scarlett was soooooo excited to see "Quis!" except, she can say it right now, and Juliet who was 6 weeks old when he left...is 2! There have been 2 weddings, and 1 more kid since he has been gone, and in a few months 2 Witte baby girls coming into the family! YES!

Bridget leaped into his arms and Mason was a little confused at the younger "skinnier" version of his Daddy

Sydney and Scarlett are the cutest best little friends..

Grandpa gave Juliet a ring.

Uncle Ben and Auntie Danielle were there too! The kids love them so much.

Noah and Lucas had a great time together as well.

Then it was dinner time. Chris requested potato soup. Of course Syd and Scar had to share a seat!

It was a fun night and Uncle Alex even brought his Girlfriend!

We are super happy to have him home!

I love that my boys all look alike, even like Uncle Chris too! :)
