Week of Goodbyes - Ryan/Veronica/Noah/Sydney/Elijah

We always go to the pumpkin patch with our cousins.

Different patches, but we always to this together.
What a perfect evening to go. The weather and the scenery was awesome!

They had enormous cows!

 Wait! Lets zoom in there!

The kids had a fun time and it was a beautiful day.

Afterwards, we went to their house for dinner where the kids were able to let loose.

It was a teary good bye, but not for too long.

Week of Goodbyes! - Ben/Danielle/Maxton

We had dinner at Casa Bonita. The kids and Nathan had never been there. Ryan and Veronica took me there for my 21st Birthday (many moons ago) and it is something people always say
"when in Denver..." so we hit it up!

Highlights:
1. Eating like we are at school in the lunch line!

2. Eating food that tastes like school hot lunch. I will admit the food tastes better than it used to.

3. Watching the live show and the divers!

4. Fried Ice Cream, another first!

5. Hanging out with this lil' fella.

And then the CAVE!

Where Scarlett said the same thing I said when I went in it many years ago: "the air tastes like pee"
The kids had a great time until Scarlett screamed and cried and then Lucas was grabbed and I flashed the camera and everyone screamed and was scared.

And then I couldn't stop laughing because all of us ran out trying to figure out what happened.
I laugh right now as I type this up. It was SO funny. (to me)

Then we went to the arcades.

It was a fun evening and we will sure miss Ben and Danielle and Maxton!
My kiddos are already asking to go back this summer!

GPSneak!

Instead of Family Fun Night our school had a fun run.
The best part is that the 1/2 mile ran right past our house!
The girls hugging the music teacher.
The new school mascot. Scarlett didn't know what she thought about it...

They did the race in heats. Kindergarten went first. Scarlett placed 4th.

Then she ran to her teacher to tell her!

While the students ran through the loop,
Mason and Juliet and Nathan high fived the kids running by...

Bridget was in the first grade heat. She didn't really care about the race she was too busy with her friends. Haha. She did run her little heart out. Look at those muscles!

Third, Fourth, and Fifth had to do the loop 2x which meant a little over a mile.
The first lap Lucas was in 1st place, the 2nd lap he stopped to get water poured on him and still managed 2nd place. First place by .22 was his good friend, Robert. 3rd place was his friend in class Mitchell. Lucas was pretty happy he medaled.

Mason and Juliet ran from our drive way to the school.

Mason went through the gate and exclaimed "I did it!"
Everyone laughed and then he was embarrassed.

After the run the kids played some field day games.

 Scarlett and her BFF, Emma.
There was popcorn, so Mason was a happy boy.

Juliet loves to Hulyhoup
Bridget was having fun with the older girls.

A fun night, and my kids were out by 7:30pm!

A Baptism

Uncle Chris's cool girlfriend, Kelley chose to be baptized today.  The coolest part? It was in a lake!

Scarlett told this sister missionary that she knew all of the Articles of Faith
Then she recited them and the sister missionary was shocked!
How old are you? 5, FIVE!

 Poor, poor, Maxton.
The cousins just eat him up, every time they see him.

It was an incredible experience. Reminded me of my own baptism.

After the baptism we went to the park and had dinner.
It was a great night. Definitely, a baptism to remember.

A Performance

Bridget is in acting/drama class. It has been going on all summer.
She absolutely, unequivocally, loves the idea of being on stage, being a star, and performance.

We tried dance, and that was great-but not like Drama. She will be starting dance, with Scarlett in January.

She is trying out for her first play (Magic Tree House) next week and when I asked how she felt about it she said "I am totally not worried, I have facial animation and dramatic effect down!"

Last night was her class performance, each kid had to write their own part and act it out.
At the last minute another girl freaked out and pretty much "stole" Bravo Bridget's monologue. (her own nickname in class) The teachers scrambled and they changed a part of Bridget's personally written monologue and she got the two mixed up, but as you can see, that didn't phase her one bit.

This did not ruin her experience in the least, she told her Daddy on the drive home "that a true actress needs to be up for last minute changes. She must work on that!"

Now without further adieu, here is a piece of the whole play.

Nathan will not be filming the next one! Yeesh!

(There were 2 Elsas and 2 Annas and a bunch of random Disney Characters in this class written play)

She was also in another part of the play, which the video is too large for my to upload.
And she learned all about musical theater, and performed "My Favorite Things"

All in all, this "practice" class did just what it was supposed to do.
She can't wait for the next "season" where they get to be on real stage!
