Colorado Day 2,3,4 (7/4-7/6)

We had been waiting all school year to go up to the mountains and see Veronica's parents for the 4th.
But, the day before they cancelled the fireworks because of construction.

We still went up to have fun and get out of the camper. (we stayed in a camper)

We had fun with the cousins, AND their cousins.
We headed down to AWest to see fireworks, but it was rainy and cold and windy so we just let the kids play in the rain. They loved that!

It stopped raining enough to see some fireworks and then we headed home.

Sunday we went to church, it rained all day.

Monday Grandma and Grandpa planned Fhe for the kids. It rained most of the day, so while Nathan was at a meeting we vegged at home. Luckily it stopped raining for an hour so I took my kids to a park. When we got home it was time for a movie! - we picked Mrs. Doubtfire but holy language! We had to turn it off I couldn't believe my ears!

Grandma bought cotton candy for the kids. They loved that.

At least the kids had fun together! Haha

Colorado day 1 (7/3)

We read about this cool thing happening in Downtown City so we headed there first.
Inside Union Station was really neat. It is a lot like Grand Central Station in New York. But on a much smaller scale. Haha.
After we left Union Station - we saw this guy.
This was it. They had cancelled the exciting thing, and it was just a live band left.
So, we decided to shake off the disappointment and venture out via mall ride.
The kids were hot, and tired, so we decided to get some frozen custard.
There were not a lot of people walking around, so the kids rode the mall ride a little more.
Then it was time to get some street food. Vietnamese style.
Then we hopped on another bus and decided to throw caution to the wind and run in the splash pad fully dressed. While the kids waited for the bus I took a picture of them.
Unintentionally like this one in 2012    That post is HERE

Oh did you want to see my kids try and not get wet? Haha. Yea right!

I NEVER let them do this, but it was hot, the day was a bust, and every once and a while you just gotta let loose.

Randoms and Other things

A lot has happened between Grandpa coming to Idaho and then, us going to Colorado.

We have been so busy with camps, and sports, and other things that time has gotten away from us.

I love blogging, and all of that stuff, but sitting down and actually getting to it hasn't been happening this summer. I don't know why really, we have done plenty of things, but by the time we get home and washed up, and lay down for bed, we are all exhausted. Haha.

Well, I guess I will start with some randoms and then move on to the here and now.

One of the biggest things we have been doing this summer is Reading Camp. I host it every week for 1st going into 2nd on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Bridget and Scarlett both do it. (Different days)
I have 14 kids and a wait list for next summer!
We do a craft or a food project each day that goes with the chapter book I have chosen for that month.
It has been fun.

Lucas has been doing scouts, which means, I am too.

Here are some fun ones from Day Camp:

I took 9 of the 12 bears. They have to wear their own uniforms to camp, but I had these shirts made to make MY life easier and let me tell you, it was. Can you see my boys among the others? YES!

We have done other fun things like :
play in the water
play at friends houses
rode bikes.

Mason and Jules each learned how to ride 2 wheelers this summer.
Mason first, then Juliet 3 weeks later.

My next post will be all about Colorado.
Stay tuned!

Pack Meeting - Campfire Program

With the new program, I decided to kick out some requirements all in one night!

1
The best part, it was on Lucas's birthday!!

I had 3 arrow of lights too!

The boys set up the tent, while group 2 made smores. It worked beautifully.
I am so glad our church building has baseball fields, and a fire pit.

Lucas earned his first bear belt loop, Fellowship and Duty to God.
Also 2 new segments! A hot air balloon from camp, and a campfire for tonight!
