Pack Meeting - CRYPTOGRAPHY

This was our last Pack Meeting under the old program.
So, I decided to do something I did as a first time Den Leader.
Cryptography.

I found a 10 minute video on natgeo about national treasure and how codes and ciphers go all the way back to Julius Caesar. The kids were entranced. Luckily, I prepared for a small group (since it is the summer) we had only 10 come, but I don't think my activity would have been as smooth - if there were more kids.
I made clues through the whole building. They were to pick up a value, and head to the next spot.

Each team had a different type of cipher.

Then they had to tie up the values in order.

Lucas earned a new segment!

And his first belt loop on the new program!
Motor Away, on the far right!

Friends Over, part 2

Bridget has a million and one friends.
One of them is Savannah.

We have weekly play dates and they have the best time together.

They were even on the field trip together.

Well, like I mentioned earlier, Savannah broke her arm in 2 places 2 days before school got out.
Bridget was the first to sign it!

She is going to camp with a bunch of her friends this summer.
Savannah is excited to have her own Bridget time.

I am so glad she has friends. (not that I was EVER worried) Haha

Kinder Party

Kindergarten had a blow out party.
They had some songs, some dances, an adorable video, which we each took home, and it was so cute!

 They had a photobooth too!

Scarlett's teacher Miss Kirby is awesome. She is exactly how I would be if I were a teacher.
I love her so much! Scarlett does too!

Here is my favorite song - We're Kindergartners - to the tune of We are the Champions.

Scarlett had a great year. She swore off friends the first month because she missed Emma (her friend in Colorado) and there were 7 other Emmas in Kindergarten/Church so she had a reminder almost everyday, but then Miss Kirby convinced her that she could have just as much fun as the friends here and then she clicked. Scarlett has a bunch of friends, she is silly and smart and I have loved seeing her grow this year.

On Wednesdays I would come in and volunteer in the reading groups.
Scarlett was usually in 1st grade for reading, but occasionally I would humor her and pull her out to read to me. She LOVED doing that!

I also was able to go to the zoo field trip!
Here she is with her pal, Cambria

She loved taking the bus, she would usually wait outside for FISH the driver

I am so glad she had a great year.
We are both glad she will be in 1st next year!

Field Day!

This school goes ALL out for field day.
For grades 1-5 it is on Tuesday. 6th grade has their mega goodbye/graduation party at the same time for the whole day.
Kinder is on Wednesday (their last day) and on Thursday - the last day of school it is a short day and the whole school watches the 6th grade vs teachers basketball game.
Which I didn't let my class go to because the room was trashed and I didn't have that many interested.
Once the cleaning was done, I let the 4 boys who were dying to go, check it out while the girls did yearbooks, etc.

Did I mention that I did the yearbook?
I did! It looked awesome.

Okay, field day!!

It is broken down into 5 parts

Large Group Games
Relays
Bingo in the Library
Minute to Win it in the Courtyard
Movie in the Gym

Nathan took the day off, and helped while I rotated with my class.
So, here are the pictures!

Every station had these:

and then, kindergarten:

Each kid had their favorite part, Sno Cones was at the very top spot of the list.
