A Movin and A Shakin

Today Veronica came over with her boys to play. Our kids were equally excited to see each other. We made a freaking awesome project that will be posted next week, and we had lunch and then played airplane in the toy cabinet.
But this post is not about that. It is all about my Scarebear. She will be 6 months next week and is well on her way to crawling! (Lucas crawled at 6.2 months, Bridget crawled at 6.1 months) We made these shakers yesterday ->here are the instructions. She liked to shake. I love this fuzzball hair picture...

So did the other kids.

Here is a cute 3 minute video for my parents and sister who don't get to see the kids. It showcases Scarlett but everyone is in it and I promised Stef I would share it. :)

And because this is such a disorganized post I thought I would share my current favorite picture of my boy...(taken today too)

If you knew him you would say "This sums up his personality"
He is my sweetie and will hate me later for saying it all of the time. :)

Unexpected

I yell up the stairs:

"Bridget its time to put your shoes on for church" - V
She runs into her room.
Rustle, Rustle, BANG!
"I got it!" - B
"Hurry, or I am leaving you here" - V
"Mmm kay" - B

I go get her shoes and here she is...
She was very proud of this ensemble.
Until I took off the hat, the backpack full of underwear, the baby with the back missing, and the 6 pairs of underwear she was wearing under that dress.
While I did her hair she cried...
"Why Mommy? Why...I is so Pretty" - B

I told her we needed to look our best for church and she just said in the softest little voice.
"Oh, I want to be best" - B
The tears were just streaming from her little face. It was so sad.

Go Lions!

Lucas started soccer today. His friend Robert is on the team and when we decided to pick a name one of the kids said they wanted to be Tigers and Robert quickly told everyone that he wanted to be the Lions. Lucas quickly backed him up and so our team of 8 is now the Lions. Which is great because Team #6 is a dumb name.

We had a fun time at practice. The kids liked to run and dribble and this was more for me to see what we needed to work on for next week. Bridget and Scarlett just tried to keep warm.

We played Team #7 and they had mostly girls which was fine but the coaches daughter which was the star of their team had played 3 other seasons so she played their entire game. Which was a little unfair to our team of beginners. (but whatever)

Our team did well except player #8 Lucas Witte who went to bed at 10 last night thanks to our babysitter who I think didn't realize that he was playing in his room. During the game Lucas cried because he wanted a turn and I was very upset because I have NEVER seen him cry like this before. I mean NEVER. I am also glad that he had this experience today because when we got home and sat him down to have a talk about his unacceptable behavior he completely understood and told us he would try harder next week.

Player #7 Robert W. (Lucas's BFF) scored 2 goals and would have scored more if he realized which way our team was going! :) Lucas congratulated him and Bridget showed her appreciation...

We had three shy players and I did a pretty good job at getting 2 of them out of their shell and actually play the game, one of them is my goal for the next game. It was fun coaching today and I look forward to the next few games...

We lost this game 6-7 but I am confident that next game will be better, I know what our problem was this time and I have a plan of attack for the next practice! :)

These are the only good pictures that Nathan took because I was out on the field coaching and he can't take good pictures! Hahaha.

Popsicles

I have a love hate with popsicles. They are messy, they are sticky and they are messy. I will admit I don't like giving them to my kids but this summer every house we go to people offer them to my kids and I just can't seem to say no to those faces that look up at me and say Pweese?

I bought some for the first time and you know what. I like them and the mess doesn't bother me that much. So today we ate popsicles on my porch and counted the cars that drove by at 3pm. The total was 4. Oooh.

We also read the jokes and saved the sticks!

OST's Multi-Cultural Event?!?!

My husband's company had their company picnic Saturday. I was going to help them with their planning and running of this fun event but because Nathan has had to travel so much it ended up being easier for me to not help this year. Which is TOTALLY fine, because for once in my life I get to attend a party and actually enjoy it! :)

So it was at Congress Park this year and they had told everyone it was Luau themed which is a real shocker since everyone and their LDS mom has had a Luau in their ward this year featuring the Schwalgers who are in our ward. All I can say is that I am so glad that we had our Luau first because it seems like everyone followed in our footsteps! :) hehehe.

I know what you are thinking, your title is Multicultural but you just said it was a Luau. Well, everyone from the office was in Luau attire but they catered Mexican food and there was some kind of bagpipe practice on the left fields so we had a party for all sorts of people! Lucas said to me when the pipers started piping "What is that horrible sound?" I told him that it was the bagpipe and he said he never wanted to play one. I agreed with him, he will never be chubby enough to carry and blow into one of those crazy things! :)

On to the party...
This is Nadine (the owner of OST)
Everyone loved the kids. Scarlett was being passed around and was a huge hit with the preteen crowd. Boys included.
They had several games and prizes for the kids.
They split them up into categories 13-10, 9-7, 6-4, and the Wittes. Ha ha.
They also had games for the adults. Scarlett was happy in the camping chair.
Then the water balloons broke out, and at OST you have to be careful because they have no mercy when it comes to drenching you with guns or water balloons!
If you can see Bridget stepped on a water balloon and it totally went up her back all over her shirt and hair! She acted like she hated it but totally loved the attention.
Here we are watching the crazy "adult games" that they had prepared for each department.
My husband did not disappoint...his team won 3 games! He was so concentrated on winning his tongue is sticking out! Stand back ladies he is mine! LOL!
There was popsicles and ice cream before the volleyball tournament.
Bridget won the glasses the ball and the lei!
Lucas was demonstrating his climbing skills till he reached the top and didn't know what to do!
Here are most of the OST kids. They were contemplating making a label for baby Witte #4 and slapping it on my shirt in the tummy area since Nathan wrote on the RSVP form Baby #4 not here yet. It was funny to everyone except me.
And of course mine are the cutest...
They had 2 professional photographers there so I didn't take that many but I will for sure post the pictures when I get them, I know one photographer was laughing at all of Bridget's poses so we will see what turns up.

We are truly blessed that Nathan has a job where he is not only appreciated and valued but he is liked. No seriously they actually like him! :) (I only say that because people at previous jobs don't seem to get him) He is very good at his job and they all are very happy to have him there.

HERE ARE THE PROFESSIONAL PICTURES...
Can you tell Lucas loves his daddy?
I think I still like my pictures better...is that bad?
We have one more photographer pictures that we haven't seen yet so stay tuned.

Going on a ...

"...Berry Hunt, Going on a Berry Hunt, Gonna pick some juicy ones, we're not scared... What a beautiful day!"
5 dollars to the first person who can tell me where that came from... Danielle you can not guess!
(j/k on the 5 dollars)

Friday Nathan came home 2 hours later than expected because he had flight issues that apparently were his fault, and apparently kept him and everyone else from flying to Cincinnati. Luckily he lived and they sent him back to Denver via Atlanta.

The kids and I packed up the van and headed to the bus stop to pick him up because well airport parking is ridiculous and we live so close to the airport that the bus is the better option.

We went to Berry Patch Farms and went Raspberry picking. If anyone EVER wants to go with me I live super close and my kids are dying to go back. In fact - I think next week while Nathan is in New York (yes he will be gone again) I am going to go get strawberries if anyone wants to join me.

I should also say that I will have seen my husband a total of 9 working days this entire month and next month doesn't look good either. I know I shouldn't complain because others have had their husband gone a lot longer in the military but it's my blog and I think it totally sucks! I would rather have him gone 2 months total then here and there scattered throughout the month...it is really hard on my kids. Okay, now on to our Friday adventure.

Scarlett took a backseat in the baby camping chair I brought...she loved it.
Lucas wanted to be the first one picking the berries.
We picked 2 sunflowers.
My studly hubby teaching the kids which ones to pick.
Because it is important you pick the red ones.
This is what it looks like when the berry is off.
I never knew raspberries grew like that!
Bridget was eating them as she was picking them.
Lucas was so happy he could do it himself.
Scarlett is looking for the higher berries...the ones the kids couldn't see.
We also grabbed some carrots.
We also picked up some rhubarb, potatoes and onions. Delish!
It was a good afternoon with Daddy. We slurped on some Sonic Slushies on the short drive home. It was totally awesome!
I forgot to add that there were a lot of farm animals roaming about and the kids got to pet them and feed them too. Then as we were leaving a stinking rooster was chasing ME to the van..I will admit...I SCREAMED!

Belleview Park

Today I met up with some of my friends from the singles ward, Amy and Hilary and we went to Belleview Park/Children's Farm.
We went to the petting zoo first. Bridget loved the lambies.
Lucas liked the "big fat pig" and the goats.
Here are the 3 girls. Jefrie (back) is January, Scarlett (left) is March, and Lucy (right) is April all the girls are 6 weeks apart. :)

Then of course we went on the train.

Here is Amy and Jefrie

and Hilary and Lucy

After all of that adventure we crossed the river and went through the pavilion to the park for lunch. Here are the two parks...

I didn't get pictures of the kids playing because I was too busy chatting with the girls and feeding Scarlett. Then we went home. Jefrie and Scarlett were practically snoring on the way home...so cute.
