Christmas

The kids went to bed so quickly. It was sort of unreal. They woke up, we ate breakfast, we washed up, and then it was time!! We were lucky enough to have a white Christmas! 6 inches total.

We kept Christmas very low key and kept the gifts to a minimum. We stuck to our guns, and are so proud we didn't go overboard. That isn't what Christmas is about anyway.
The girls got a very Lalaloopsy themed Christmas. These from the Horns(below)

Mason was supposed to get this for his birthday, but it didn't come in time.
He and Jules love this plasma car.

These from the Wittes

November the kids spent the month earning money for the soul purpose of buying something for a sibling. Scarlett bought Mason 2 puzzles and went over .30

Bridget bought Juliet a nightgown and had 1.00 left over.

Juliet bought Lucas Beyblades and had 3.00 left over.

Lucas bought Scarlett baking mix for her new Lalaloopsy oven. (The only thing she asked for)
He had $9.00 left over and felt like he got her the perfect gift.
 She was overjoyed.

Mason bought Bridget an outfit with powish to match (polish)
He was over $2.50 but I couldn't deny the powish.

Auntie Steph gave them the best present ever. Each of them are obsessed with their watches.
 They light up!

Then we took down the tree, opened stockings...
Santa brought each of them essentials and 5 books each. They were jazzed about that.
Scarlett has already finished the first one.

We waited and waited and waited and at 7pm Grandma and Grandpa Witte FINALLY made it.
They drove in a snow storm to see us.

We were SO excited!
Pot Roast, Potatoes, Rolls, and hugs were for dinner.

The kids went to bed and Nathan and I kept them up until 11:45, gabbing about how much we love Idaho. Hahaha.

Christmas Eve plus

Here are the kids Christmas Sunday. Mason is done smiling ALL of the time. He told me before bed tonight. It was adorable.
On Tuesday we had friends over to pass off some scout requirements. Cole and his sister Ali are great friends with Lucas and Bridget.

Lucas made a Firetruck (no surprise there) and everyone else made an ATV
It was a great 4+ hour play date/activity.
Legos, Coloring, Dancing is pretty much what everyone did.

Today - Christmas eve
We decided to keep the Witte tradition alive and have Yummy Sandwiches.
I tweaked them a little bit.

Then we washed up, and opened up the RV Witte gift.
We asked them for Telestrations. Then we played it all night. It is so much fun.
It was a great night, and we can't wait for the morning!
Or Dinner because Grandma and Grandpa Witte are coming to Idaho!!!!!

Christmas Ornaments!

We make ornaments every year, and we get a new Christmas book every year.
This year, we did both at the same time!

Thanks to Nathan for cutting these bad boys out, and thanks to Becky for the idea, and thanks to the author for writing this CUTE book to tie it all together!

What a fun tradition, and a fun FHE.

Museum of Idaho

After the parties on Friday, Nathan decided to take the afternoon off. Since he is home full time, he basically just walked out of his office and out we went.

This is a new to us museum.
We had been hearing about it on the radio, so it was time to check it out.

Where we live is so small, that the local music shoppe paid for all of Decembers admission.
This entire visit was free! This month was the Christmas exhibit.

There was a lot to see.
There were nativities from all over the world. Lucas really enjoyed this.

They had a play house for kids inside. It was all about Idaho.
They had past Idaho, present Idaho, and future Idaho.

The kids had a great time.
Then we came home, had Café Rio and told the kids some awesome news...
UNCLE CHRIS is GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!
TO AUNT KELLEY!!!!!
 WOO-HOO!

School Christmas Parties Continued

That was Bridget's Class.

As I said before, classroom parties are a serious business at this school.

The room mother puts several helpers to work so that there are at least 5 stations for the kids to go to.

 Scarlett above!

 And there are snacks galore.

3rd grade is not exempt from the activities. All the way up to 6th, they have something going on!

This is Scarlett and her pal, Hyrum. Hyrum has a brother named Treyden in Lucas's class and they are all 4 great friends. They also live 4 houses down, so when it is nice enough to play, that is usually where my 2 gingersnaps are hanging out.

Scarlett is in a no girl phase. She will only play with boys. Not because she "likes" them, but because the girls are not like her good friend E in Colorado. This time will pass. She will get over it, she does think the boys like to "play" more than the girls do, so we will see what she ends up doing this summer. :)

Christmas Parties!

The kids school is very into parties. I am on the PTO board, so I got to dress up as an elf (everyone else was dressed up too) and we delivered and sang carols to the classes. This was AFTER the school assembly.

It was a Christmas Musical Assembly (Lucas's Class was my favorite!)

More on the next post!
