Arvada 1,2,3 Trunk or Treat

It is so nice to go to an activity and enjoy my kids and family and friends. Unfortunately the control freak in me was thinking how I would have done it differently, but oh well. :)

Before we got to the Quail Building we stopped at a park to take a picture and play on the playground because (surprise suprise) we were 30 minutes early...

Here we all are...

Nathan is a Bug Catcher, Valerie is a Bee, Lucas is a Spider, Bridget is a Butterfly, and Scarlett is a Ladybug.

We had dinner and then played some games and then took our traditional Witte Kid pictures.

Veronica did an awesome job on the boys costumes. Noah was Wall-E and Elijah was Blue. Super cute!

It was interesting taking 5 kids under 4 years old in a group shot...but I did it!

Then the dad's took the kids from Trunk to trunk. I kept Scarlett while Veronica and I passed out candy.

A night out w/DeShazers!

JUST FOR ME!
I was lucky enough to go to Wicked with the DeShazers! They are the coolest for letting me tag along with them. I took Stefan's ticket since he was lame and didn't want to go, oh well...lucky for me. But what was really lucky was that my ticket was in another row and on the other end and Papa came over to me and switched me tickets, I told him that I was fine to sit with alone Danielle and that he should sit with his family, but his response was "I see them all of the time, go sit with them." He is so great!
Nathan stayed home with the kids and even though he is sad he missed it he told me when I got home at 11:50pm that he is glad I got a night out with my "family."
Which is true they are like family to me.

The best part was that I was able to take my best friend with me!
Danielle (their daughter) sat in my lap the whole time and applauded with me and I only had to wipe her tears at the end. It was a fantastic show and I am grateful that I was able to see it while the production was in Denver.

Thanks to Dylan and Holly for picking me up and taking me home, and Thanks to the DeShazer Family for treating me like one of the family, it was such a great night!

I love Leabs

This is what Bridget calls the leaves, so when she tells me that she loves leabs she means she wants to outside and crunch them. There is only one problem with that...
Our leabs are BIG and GREEN even though they are falling off our tree. In fact our entire neighborhood has naked trees except for us. Our next door neighbors have the "brown crunchy kind that we like" - Lucas.
So first we raked ours up and made a pile and then played in theirs. Then it was too hot (42 degrees) so we took off our jackets to play in our pile. See the difference?

It was a fun afternoon and then we came inside for dinner.

Chili Cook Off/Halloween Extravaganza

It all started at 7:30am when Nathan got back from Ohio. We ran to 11 places before 11:30am. We found a lifesaver named Sarah Pabst who came over to watch the kids while they took a nap so we could set up. Did I mention that the committee was non existent? One was out of town, another had a family emergency it was just me and the big group of Ricks/VonAxelsons and Bro. Pabst, with their help we had the gym set up in 20 minutes!

We had 10 games, 19 chili's, a Photo-Op set up, an art project (of course) and TOO MUCH CANDY!

It was a good turn out and I received many compliments about how the activity turned out, but of course I would still change things for next year! :)

I typed in my search thing "fun times" and this is what came up. Bridget is 2 months, and Lucas is 17.5 months, I just love this video, excuse my nasal voice, I was so stuffed up, but it is so cute and wanted to share.



*sigh* it makes me realize how fast they are growing up. :(

Pumpkin Patch

Wow, have we really been to this place 3x already? Its crazy the more kids you have the faster time seems to fly by! Every year there is always someone new this year it was Scarlett!

It was a "brisk" 36 degrees today and my kids refused to wear jackets and I said fine - no complaining. It wasn't actually that cold but lil' Bridget just couldn't take it so she warmed up in my jacket. The whole way home Lucas said "Mommy next time I will listen and wear my jacket, I am sorry to not listen." So, my firmness worked! :)

This year we went into the mini 3 foot corn maze...the boys thought it was pretty cool.

They were all very excited! We need to express our excitement, so look at Lucas...

Fallish Weather = Fallish Food

After Lunch Group at my house - Scarlett woke up trying to climb up the stairs...

She was the only one who thought it was funny.

Then my kids were determined to go outside where they discovered something...

Apparently we needed to taste it.

So for dinner we made Chicken Tortilla Soup snuggled up in the blankets and watched Glee...my kids like the songs. :) I love this weather. Oh, and I love being back!
