Happy Go Lucky

It has been so nice out lately, so we met up at the park with a friend the other day.
It was windier than I thought it would be, but the kids had a great time.

Juliet had the best time, I think.
She is seriously the happiest kid you will ever meet.
No - that is not chocolate. It is dirt. I tried to wipe her off so many times, but she just loved playing in it. The sand too. The best thing about park days is when we can just let the kids go and play.
Ugh, so filthy.

The kids all enjoyed a picnic lunch.

Mason just sat there. He is getting so fat. Hahahaha.

The kids played nicely together, Lucas and Eva went on a mini adventure.
After every playdate he tells me how much he wishes one of his sisters were more like Eva.
Meaning...listen to him, and be interested in what HE is doing/saying.

It was so windy. Check out their pigtails!

I had mentioned how I wished I had brought chalk, and what do you know? Dawn brought some! SCORE!

These two pics crack me up.
Sophie is such a sweet and charming little girl.

And then there is Juliet...

Haha.
Dawn said she had Jack Nicholson eyebrows.
Now, that is all I see.

"You can't handle the truth!"
LOL

(She actually has Grandpa Plum eyebrows - or eyebrowns, as my girls call them.)

Spring Break Day2 - Go to the Zoo

We met up with some PB friends today. Dawn (Eva and Sophie)
and Lindsey (Paige and Finley) It was a last minute thing, but worked out. :)
I was also lucky enough to run into my friend Mellisa Lubbick. I see her everywhere! Even at the Target I never go to - she somehow seems to be there too. :) It was really funny!

The zoo was crazy busy because of Spring Break. I asked the kids if they were sure they wanted to go since the elephants don't open up till June, but they wanted to see friends and see the "other" animals. So, we did.
When did these 3 get so big?
I just can't believe it.

Even though I said the zoo was busy, you would never guess with the backgrounds of these pics.
Hardly anyone back there.

Lucas really liked Eva listening to him.
He had everything planned out and just needed someone to follow his ideas.
Eva was so cute, nodding and listening. :)

Juliet really wanted out of that stroller.
Paige, Finley, Bridget and Lucas enjoyed the sea lions.
This was the highlight of the day.
They were super active and wrestling and making sounds.
We stopped to use the bathrooms and Dawn took the girls (thank you, thank you, thank you)
I watched the strollers and Lucas with the peacocks.
 Lucas named this one Maurice.
Maurice?
Sophie was laughing until the peacock flew on the roof. She was so captivated by them.
We stopped for lunch. We had our traditional "mom made" lunchables - kids were happy.
Mason needed to be changed and to stretch out. See that double chin? He is fattening up!!!
 Sophie and Juliet stretching out.

3 cute 4 year olds. All with November birthdays!

Eva, Bridget, Scarlett, Paige, Juliet, MEAN GIRL, and Finley.
This mean girl was being a punk to Juliet. Her mom was pregnant and just being mean herself. Juliet was just trying to stand there and that girl was pushing her off. Good luck with that new baby. haha.

We rode the carousel, then Paige and Finley left and Dawn and our crews continued on to the apes and monkeys.
Eva and Scarlett on the drums.

It was a fun day. We were there 4 hours.
The kids were done, and on the way home we stopped for a slushee.

2 Girls Day Out's in a month?!?!

I had a pretty fun day today without kids!
My friend, Dawn, brought her sweet Sophie, and she was an absolute doll the entire time!

I was at Dawn's at 9, got to admire her beautiful house - seriously, its amazing, then we were off.

We drove to Tradesmart to pick up Group Numbers for a little book signing that was happening today.
Then we went to Ikea. This was my first time at the Denver Ikea.
I found a few neat items, and then we went to Q'doba for lunch.

We got back to Tradesmart at around 2, the signing was at 4.
It was very unorganized, but - it was what it was.
Dawn and I were numbered #50 and #51.

There were TONS of people there.
We were in the 2nd ROW!

I am so glad we got there early.

The author got up, and was so cute...

You may recognize her.  She is sort of popular. :)
It was Ree Drummond, Pioneer Woman!!!!!

We got to meet her in the flesh!
She was so nice and talked to each and every person.
She shared a moment with sweet Sophie.
She signed my cookbooks, and told me how lucky I was to have 3, YES 3, redheads.
I had to agree.
We also shared a laugh about a common allergy, bananas.
 :)
I got a quick picture, and then we left.

I was gone ALL day and it was glorious!
The kids missed me, and wanted to hear all about my day.
They had a lot to tell me too!
They got to do several things with Nathan, including bike riding, park playing and a touch of the vomits!
Horray!

It was a fun day and I am so glad I didn't go by myself.
Who else would have believed this...
A serenade to Charlie, her dog. Hahahahaha.

Awesomely Awesome Day

Today, in Kindergarten, was Kite Flying Day! Parents and siblings encouraged to attend.
Of course, the one time I tell Nathan to not come...EVERYONE brought their husband!
Oh well. Haha.

The kids and I loaded up the stroller and walked over to the school.
Hit up the bathrooms...

Scarlett insisted on the sunglasses. "It is always sunshiny bright on my walks to school"

Then we went outside to get started...

Lucas felt like an expert kite flyer. Until it fell. Then, Sarah assisted and his confidence was lifted. Thanks again Hampson's! Always there when we need them! :)

Juliet was walking quite a bit, then decided crawling was much more fun.
After the kites, Mrs. Kelso passed out popsicles...
Bridget sat with the class. She really can't wait for "real school." Scarlett, was hilarious. "Here Mom, rescue this pop from it's wrapper."
Lucas and his best bud, Robert!

After school, we loaded up in the car to drive to Squires to meet Eva and Sophie!
I brought the sand toys out of the dungeon for "summer play"
Juju didn't know what to think of the sand.
Mason was his usual, "suprised" self. Haha.
The kids played with Eva and some random boy that we couldn't figure out his name. Gayden, Gaycen, Gaydence? It was so funny to hear Bridget say his name different each time.

Juliet enjoyed Sophie. How can you not? She is so adorable!

After the park, we stopped at Nathan's work to say hi. His office peeps haven't met Mason yet, so it was perfect timing.  Most awesome part?  Arun told Nathan he could go home. Nathan and I were cool with that, so we came home and enjoyed the rest of the day outside with the kids. Because of that...we are eating dinner 1.5 hours late! I love the spring/summer.

66 degrees in JANUARY!

I met up with another PB friend. She has 2 beautiful daughters named Eva and Sophie.

Bridget is always up for meeting new people, and we had planned to meet at the rec center, but once we got out of the car, the park seemed like a better idea.

Bridget and Eva had a great time. Lots of silly 4 year old giggles!

Sophie (5 months) and Juliet (10.5 months) just kinda chilled.
It was fun to meet another PB mom! Dawn just moved to Colorado and only lives 15-20 minutes from me!

I hope we can do it again soon, weather pending.

On the way home the kids talked about how fun it is to play outside in the winter.

I told them that since they were so good at the park, we would skip naps for the day, but that only lasted 30 minutes when I found all of them in weird places asleep. Lucas passed out under his Lego table, Bridget was under her bed and Scarlett was...
...snoring away. Hahaha.

Cali Day 2

A PB meet up of mini epic proportions!

Dawn, Jennie and Jess have kids all born in November of 2007 JUST like Bridget.
So we planned a meet up. I have been friends/admirers of theirs for awhile and it worked out that we could all meet at Dawn's house today.
 Jess, Dawn, Jennie and Me!
They live far from my parents - but it was worth the drive and laughter.
Everyone brought something for the kids and adults. The kids had a fabulous time.
Lucas was in heaven with all the boy time.
Bridget, Finley(dawn's daughter) and Harrison(jennie's son)
The kids had a great time and luckily Nathan and Matt (dawn's husband) were there to entertain the kids so we could gab and eat without interruption.
Notice the 3 year olds. We tried to get a pic of all the kids but most of mine were already in the car.
The 3 year olds cracked me up - they were hilarious.

Harrison, Finley, Bridget, and Makenna.
While I was snapping these Avery was such a little character...
I can't explain how much fun it was to meet these ladies in real life. I feel so lucky to be in the "special circle."
Bridget won't stop talking about her new friends and how Harrison is so big and strong.
We will have to do it again next time I come to California.
Love these awesome and fantastic chicks!
And the 11 (so far) kids that were there too!
the so far was for me...I am pretty sure I am the only one planning on another baby. Hahaha.

As we were leaving we saw this totally random and awesome Mail Truck.

Totally rad huh?

I will never forget this day. :)
