Spirit Week,Day 3

Today was SuperHero Day and it was specified "no costumes" so we went a different route. Lucas really wanted a Captain America shirt, but I couldn't find one. I suggested Iron Man and he shrugged but said okay. I found this green one and thought Hey! He should be Dr. Sheldon Cooper too! Lucas is already a lot like Sheldon so, it would work. I also had this Gap jacket for Mason that would be perfect for a Dr. Leonard Hofstetter so that is what we decided to do.

Here are stills from the show...

Oh, and the guy in the blue pants is TOTALLY Nathan. Haha

So we headed to school, and Lucas thought he was pretty cool until Allen was wearing THIS:

I had told Lucas to be Superman JUST like this, last week and he said no.

And, Hazel (principal's daughter) was wearing this even though it said no costumes.

Lucas was so mad until the doors opened and his teacher, Mrs. H said
"Sheldon! Leonard! Lucas! What a great idea! This is perfect for you!"
She laughed and then called another teacher who also loves Big Bang Theory to the door to see Lucas and Mason dressed up. Lucas walked into first grade with a HUGE smile.
We love this show, and for a while now people have been telling us about the similarities between Sheldon and Lucas. They were right. (mostly) We just had the friends with benefits talk with Lucas a few weeks ago.
Lucas asked us why friends would give health insurance. HAHAHAHAHA

Spirit Week, Day 2

Today wasn't as fun (for Lucas), but oh well.

 Today was silly sock day.

It was also walkin and wheelin week, so Lucas grabbed his tickets again.

It was cool to see what everyone came up with. Even the teachers were wearing cool socks!

Lucas and his classmates. Nicholas is his best buddy in class, he is the one in glasses.

Caley made her own cool socks in BASE. Lucas thought hers were the best in the class. I am glad I got a picture of them.

While Lucas was at school, I ran several errands with the kids.
I never run errands with the kids anymore. It was fun for them to go to Target, Michaels, Party City, King Soopers, and the Bread Store all before 9:45am. I took them to the pet store as a special treat.
These are crappy cell phone pix but you get it...

They all enjoyed themselves, and thought it was so neat to "run errands."
They were pretty good and we got home just in time for lunch.
My favorite part of the pet store was watching Mason track the fish with his whole head. HAHA

Spirit Week,Day 1

I LOVE Spirit Week. I am a sucker for all things "school spirit."
This is partly because I was student body president in HS and planned these sort of activities, and partly because celebrating silly things is fun!

Today (the last monday of school) was Mustache Day!

I searched and searched for orange/red mustache but saw these and snatched them up.
They were furry and cute!

We slapped one on Mason and he kept licking and sticking his chin out, oh it was so funny.

Lucas picked The Casanova, Mason took The Banker. Nathan walked Lucas to school in...

The Chopper.

Nathan got so many laughs at school. Lucas too!
The principal called the Librarian over to check out my Witte's.

Nathan kinda looked creeeeepy, but he was a good sport. He even went to work in it. Haha

Lucas had a great last Monday!

Season 1 Done!

It was the last game of the season, then, 2 weeks off and it starts all over again.

Believe it or not Lucas hit a home run!

See? He got 2 runners plus himself, home!

Game one of two was over and Coach had a party in between games.

Pizza! Pizza! (Think Kevin McCallister in Home Alone)

They had an awards ceremony and Coach told each player why they were an asset to the team. Lucas is the only person on the team who can bat both left and right. He prefers left, but still! The coach said that will be good when they start kid pitch next season.

He also applauded Lucas for being the team cheerleader. He always high fives and cheers for each kid on the team, even those who don't hit the ball and have to take a base.

This was a great experience for Lucas and I am glad he found something he loves.
We are also happy that Coach Brian is his coach. He is really great.

Mother's Day 2013

We made it another year.
Whew.

Apple Fritters for Breakfast...

I was given a gift from each kid that goes to school and then a gift from church...

(Bridget and Scarlett's)

According to the kids, I spend most of my day working, cleaning, and washing my hands.
I am best at cooking Pineapple Chicken, Meatloaf, and Cowboy Casserole.
If I was a super hero my name would be SuperMommy, Buttercup, and Trixie.

haha.

Then we spent the day together and had Club Sandwiches for dunner.

But that wasn't the best part of the weekend.
Arvada had their father son campout, and we had a mother daughter + Mason weekend.
We were supposed to spend it with Sydney and Veronica, but she was sick.

So, we made it work at our house...

Pizza and then a bubble bath.
Crazy Mason!
He was very helpful.

Then we slapped on some jammies and got to work on hair.
I have never done this with them before, but it brought back so many memories of doing it with my sister.

Scarlett wanted Merida hair. So...I tried. I am not really girlie, so this was waaaaay out of my comfort zone
.

Jules thought she wanted to try it out, but she didn't actually want to sit for it, so I just did 2.

Then, another first for me...I painted their toenails!

We pigged out on drumsticks and candy and watched a silly girl movie.

While we were doing that Nathan and Lucas were at the campout...
Grandpa Witte, Uncle Chris, Uncle Alex, Uncle Spencer, Uncle Ryan and Noah and Elijah were there!

Lucas had a great time, even though he fell in a cactus.

Lucas really likes being with his Uncles, in some ways it is like having big brothers.

Then they came home and Mason pleaded with Nathan to take him along next time.

While they were driving back, we finished hair...

 Warning: below is extreme happiness!

Then we planted our flowers, and veggies for the summer season.

Happy Mother's Day y'all!
