Father/Son's and Mother/Daughter's

In Arvada, they are die hard Father/Son Camp out people.
If it is not Stake level, it is Ward level.

We have tried to go to our own Stake Father/Son camp out but no one from our ward seems to go, so Nathan has decided to go to Arvada's with his dad and his brothers. It helps that Nathan grew up in Arvada, so there is always someone he knows there too.

This year was Ward level, so they went to Ryan and Veronica's ward-F/S camp out and Grandpa and Spencer joined too!

Leave it to my husband to not get a picture of everyone.
Anyway, they had a great time.

It was raining and too sleety to cook on Mount Evans so every Witte curled up in our tent and finished making fajitas. They also ate in the tent too!

Then the weather cleared up, just in time for the fireside and dessert.
With a threat of thunder/snow storm overnight, Nathan and his Dad and our boys went to sleep in the observatory. After about an hour, Ryan and his kids joined them in the observatory, because the weather blew his tent over. The only thing people had to deal with in the observatory, was Mason's SNORING.
Who knew? Poor Juliet all these years!

Mason and Lucas on Grandpa's air mattress.
 Beautiful Mountain Sunrise.
Nathan was packing up the tent, and Grandpa took Lucas to the Archery Range.

Lucas loved this and his very last shot was...

A Bulls-eye! No Joke!

They packed up and headed home.

What did the gals do? Well, we rented the new Barbie movie, you know the one Lucas would NEVER watch? Yea, they loved having control of the TV.

We got Reeses Ice Cream and Magic Shell and pigged out on that. Then we had a dance party.
The girls couldn't calm down so we had to separate for bed.

In the morning we played Barbie Hair Salon.

We tried 2 methods and preferred the spray mixture best.

This was serious business. We spent a good hour working on barbie hair.
I tried to get the girls do each others hair, but they desperately wanted to play barbies.
So, we did that until Lunch time.
It was kind of nice not having to keep tabs on Mason.
Not that he is bad, but when he is bored or hungry...watch out! He is very sneaky!

Week in Review May 1

A lot is going on'round these parts, and I can't share much, -yet - but I need to switch things up.
We are going to do weekly recaps, for now.

First up, a friend of mine was looking at model homes and found something peculiar.

Yes! That is my two boys! Do they belong in a model home? No! No they do not!
Did the stager of the home get my permission? No! No she didn't!
Did I contact my lawyer? Yes! Yes I did!

When I went to look for myself I found over 15 photos of my children, and any more of the Witte's that shouldn't have been there. She printed pictures from the photographers website and thought that was okay.

But wait! There is more! She did this with SEVERAL of her model homes through out Denver, and they were using mostly pictures of my kids. Names changed, only because she didn't know them.

There was a lot of hullabaloo and now it is over, and my kids are no longer in the 30 homes they were once "featured" in.

***MOVING ON***

On Monday we had FHE and decided to talk about Daniel and the Lion's Den. The kids wanted to memorize all of the verses to Follow the Prophet,so this was a great way to do that. We decided to go backwards, and next week will be Jonah, of course.

Anyway, our treat was making Lion cupcakes. I promise, we do not go all out on dessert every week. A lot of weeks, but not every week. ;)

 Then out to lawn bowl.

Then it turned into everyone jump on the mini trampoline.

I love these people.

***Then Wednesday!***

Everyone was cavity free, except Lucas who needs a small filling on the side of a tooth due to thinning enamel. Not a cavity, but still needs to be fixed.

Wednesday afternoon was the Kindergarten Safari.
Scarlett danced while she waited.
She is SO READY for KINDERGARTEN!
Scar and her BFF wore Zebra Dresses.

***THURSDAY was Teacher Appreciation Day***
We gave insulated Totes to the teachers because they LOVED my Strawberry Bags from last year.
They TOTE-ally deserved it too! They wrap into cute mini packs. (above)

And the kids wrote to all of their teachers.

and now I am all caught up. Whew!

Kinder Zoo Field Trip

Bridget was so excited to go. Her first school bus ride!

My/Her group was Sienna, Claudia, and another girl but the girl's mother freaked out because she wanted us to stop and take a picture with every animal, and read every single sign, and I told her we wouldn't have time for that and since I was the chaperone and she was just visiting, maybe she should just go on her own. Then she called me a B#$%^ in front of my daughter and the other girls, and walked away.
The girls all asked what a B&(*)$ was and then Mrs. S came up and told me that she thought this might happen, and not to worry about it. This mother also refused to let her daughter ride the bus because the school isn't responsible for her daughter, she is, and because of this, her daughter will be by her side from now on. (Whatever)

This wasn't a personal trip for these kids, they had things they were supposed to do at the zoo.
Each kid had picked a large animal they needed to locate at the zoo and find out as much as possible about that animal. Then they were supposed to spot 3 different examples of the food chain.  The last thing they were supposed to do was to name 6 reptiles and 6 different types of fish.

We got it all done and had a great time, despite the dispute earlier.
In fact, I forgot all about it until the bus ride home when another parent chaperone was complaining about the same mom tagging along her group and holding her up and then losing her own daughter!

Here is Bridget's 6 fingered self portrait. LOL

We had no clogging with the other 8 schools that were there, because I went the opposite direction of everyone else. My group was able to get a lot of time with the zoo hands.
They had made a jacket for the zoo's largest Ape, and Bridget got to try it on.
He is over 600 pounds!

It was a fun day (minus the mama drama) and Bridget can't stop talking about it!

Market Day in 2nd Grade

What a week! A zoo field trip, a law suit, 2 well baby check ups, 2-10 page papers, Nathan's 36th Birthday, AND Market Day!

Before I back-blog about that...

What is Market Day?
It is when the 2nd graders pick a good or service, price it, and then sell it.
Lucas wanted to do Lemonade, but I told him that everyone was going to do that.
Then he said that he knew of at least 6 other kids were making a brownie or a cookie, so he didn't want to do that. He couldn't think of a service, so I suggested something that most people would like to eat anytime.

He picked Trail Mix! And he put a penny in each bag and labeled them "Lucas's Lucky Trail Mix"
He was very proud of his creation.
Pretzels, Goldfish, Raisins, Mini M&Ms and Honey Nut Cheerios. (plus a penny)

He made 50 bags and went on his merry way.

He planned on selling them for $1.00 but decided to up the price at the last minute.

They had to have a contract, a plan of action, and ideas for a quick sale.

Lucas was the first person to sell out. He was surprised to find out that I was right (why, I don't know, because Moms are usually right) because in all 4 second grade classes there were 11 drink stands. There was also a LOT of cookies and brownies.

After our fun day in Lucas's class, I joined him for lunch, and then helped out in Bridget's class.
While Bridget was at recess, I went back to Lucas's class where they discussed rent fees, and taxes. Oh the moaning that I heard. Lucas made $91! This was after a sale when it was knocked down to $1.00 in the last 15 minutes.

Then we came home, picked up Scarlett and went to TRU.
Scarlett had to pick out her present from Gigi.
She has always wanted a cash register.

Since we were out, we went to Gunther Toody's and you will never believe it, but we beat all the seniors there! Two elderly couples came up to us separately to tell us how well behaved our kids were.
Then, Nathan and I high fived and smiled.  We are doing something right! On the way out some lady told us she wished she had pretty redheads, hers were never that cute. HAHAHA

Then we decided to surprise the kids for dessert.
Nathan and I are 80s kids but never ever got to have these.

They were a hit! Then to continue on our 80s theme, we watched Full House.
This is currently Bridget's favorite show. Which Nathan likes because he is a little a lot like Danny Tanner.
Now I am off to go hug it out!

Hehhehehe.

Easter Sunday

We had a crazy morning. Mason cut his head, minutes before I was about to cut his hair and there was blood everywhere. He ended up being fine, but YUCK!

We decided to leave for church a little early and take a few pictures.
Not that matching is anything new for us, (because we match EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY) but it was Easter! And we were ready! And every one was in a good mood!
Scarlett was in a good mood right after I took this picture.LOL
No one was in a better mood than Mason. He LOVES bowties.
 And making this weird smile.
These boys KILL me. They are so adorable!
After I took this picture the sun came out and was beaming on my Itty Bitty Wittes.

Jules and her blue steel face.
The girls decided not to have poofy dresses this year, and I am glad because the ones I originally bought (and returned) 5 other little girls were wearing today!

What a good Sunday. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach Primary and explain what Easter really means. I love the video the church put out and and that my kids are starting to understand and explain gospel principles. Sigh, they are all growing up so fast!
