Rick r Treat...Tank you!

Last year's 2008 Halloween POST

The year before 2007 Halloween POST

Okay got that done, now lets talk about this year's shall we?

We finished dinner at 5:45, and at 5:55 while my kids were putting on their costumes, we had a pack of WILD trick or treaters ringing the doorbell.  This was good because it made my kids hurry up and get ready so they could go on their own with Nathan through the neighborhood.  I offered to keep Scar with me but the neighbors would have been mad if they didn't get to see her too so Nathan carried her to the 25 houses on our little cul de sac loop and then the kids came back to pass out because that is their favorite thing to do.

It was still light out when they went, it was so cute because after every house Bridget would say thank you, thank you and then yell across the street to me "Hey Mom!" Lucas told her that they needed to be fast so they could have a turn at the haunted house.  The walkway between our neighborhood and the town homes had a mini haunted but friendly house for the little ones. It was so cute.

Passing out candy was fun, but so was playing in the left over snow.  Remember the 2 feet we got two days ago?  Yeah almost ALL of it is gone now! See...

It was so beautiful outside before it got dark...

Scarlett wants to walk soooooo bad.

She will be 8 months on Friday. She is CRAZY.

So this year I had a great idea with the candy situation.  Since my kids only hit a few houses - while they are passing out, I dump the pails out and sort through the stuff they can't have like... GUM and JAWBREAKERS, and other things that are too hard for them to eat and I add that to our pass out candy bin. Then I put one of each thing in their basket so their is an even number of SMARTIES, KITKATS and other stuff that they like so it makes it fair later on when they get a treat.  Smart right?  I know I know. :)

Well hope you all had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN! We sure did!

Down on the Farm

Last year we celebrated Noah's birthday at White Fence Farms and the kids loved it...check it out HERE.  So Veronica, the smart mom she is thought..."why mess with a good thing?" So we celebrated his birthday this year at the same place and you know what...the kids LOVED it again! :)

It was not as snowy or as cold as we thought it would be which made it even more perfect.

This is what we bought Noah, I think he liked it!

Then they surprised us with a song and a sparkler!

We took our wooden nickels to the treasure chest and picked out a prize.  Noah got a mini flashlight and Lucas got a super spinner.  The entire way home I heard about how Lucas really needed a flashlight. :)

Then we checked out the mini farm and went outside for some petting fun.

Bridget laughed like the cowardly lion when she saw the animals.  It was pretty cute.

Isn't the sunset beautiful?

Hello Thomas Jefferson!

I love this one...don't worry folks these are faux chickens!

Scarlett was enjoying the powdered sugar encrusted corn fritters.

Then we went to the play place...everyone loved the ponies.

Elijah especially.

I know the kids loved it, Nathan did too!
Happy 4th Noah!  I hope you had a great night, and thanks for inviting us to celebrate it with you!
Love, Auntie Val and the gang!

Something Amazing

Something amazing happened here today. I know nobody pays attention to lil' old Colorado unless there is some boy supposedly flying in a space balloon, but we got some snow. Nathan stayed home from work because in case you hadn't seen the weather reports either we were pounded with snow yesterday and today. Our city got 16 inches of snow, here was the backyard this morning...while it was STILL snowing!
Look at the red baby swing!
So I sent Lucas outside to earn his keep, Nathan went out to supervise...
The purple "glub glubs" were Lucas's idea.
Dig boy, Dig!
Once he was done "sho-bel-ing" we all came out to play.
Scarlett liked the snowflakes that "stayed on her nose and eyelashes."
Bridget did not.
Lucas liked the mismatched mitten-pops. They were "dil-ishious"
They liked to jump in the snow.
Practically eating out of his hand!
I wanted a good one of us, but this was all I got. But I don't really care 'cause I am wearing my favorite scarf that Joyce bought me when I first moved to Colorado!
While Lucas was out doing sidewalks Bridget and me made "cinny rolls" They didn't rise as much as I would have wanted but when we took off the towel to check them we noticed this...
A Happy Face! WEIRD!

I was able to go to lunch group without my kids, and we had a leftover kind of dinner and then went to bed with the quietness that snowfall brings. See. I told you. Something Amazing! Well, in our little world anyway. :)

PS - the last time we were "snowed in" was 12/21/06-12/23-06
Lucas was 2 weeks YOUNGER than Scarlett. In case you were wondering. :)

Cah-rar-ving Punkins

For family night this week we cah-rar-ved punkins (bridget), last year 2008 we cart-ed them or cut them(lucas), and the year before that 2007 we made a Luke-O-Lantern(he didn't talk much then.)
The girls in their Orange and Black...Lucas protested matching today.
Lucas is a pro.
Bridget knew just what to do.
Scarlett was happy to participate.
Nathan carving with 3 kids. LOL.
Lucas loved the scraping.
I love this picture.
While we made roasted pumpkin seeds, Scarlett decided to master the stairs...

In 2006 we carved pumpkins at the Siracusano's but we managed to get a cute one of Lucas at the patch...he was 4 months old and a CHICKEN!
Oh, and here we are in 2005...3 weeks after we moved into our house...a little before our 1st anniversary...WE LOOK SOOOOO DIFFERENT and so does our house!
We were Lumber Jack and Lumber Jane. This was the day before Noah was born!
What a trip down memory lane!
