Spirit Day 4, and Last Day of School!

Spirit Day 4 was Hawaiian/Beach Day

and the lovely Mrs.H.

Today was GP pride day, but Lucas didn't have any peak attire. oops!

Anyway on to the rest of the day.

Here is the First Day of 1st Grade.

It is amazing to see the growth in your child when you stop and look back.

I know Lucas has grown a lot in his development and his personality but he has really become a better person thanks to Mrs.H. She didn't try to change him, she wanted him to work to his full potential and challenged him daily. I am grateful for such a great teacher this year.

Lucas by nature is a worrier and perfectionist. Mrs. H taught him to do his first grade best, and to only compete with himself. She really challenged him and made sure he knew that he was a good kid.

The kids all walked him to school today. Normally it is just Nathan, but today they insisted.
There was a lot of love for Lucas.

(and Mason)

This picture makes me laugh so hard. ^^^^

At the beginning of the year, Lucas was so upset that Robert wasn't in his class. But, I think they are better friends for it. They are growing up so fast.

Well, after a goodbye Lucas was ready to end first grade!

Lucas begged to buy on his last day. Apparently "cooks choice" is so cool. The last 2 days of school, the kids get to eat where ever they want outside! I surprised Lucas and had lunch with him. He was SO excited!

Well, shocked. Haha.

I asked Mrs. H if she needed any help and she hugged me and said YES! YES! So I spent the rest of the day tearing down first grade. I also got to watch a Readers Theater. Lucas was chosen to be the narrator. He liked that because it had the most sentences.

Then, with the last 20 minutes, Mrs. H asked the kids to talk about what their favorite part of 1st Grade was. I was mentioned 2x! It was when I made them do the 100 day centers. Haha.

Then the bell went off and everyone said good bye with no tears, and then it happened. Lucas said to Mrs. H," I will miss you more than hot lunch and recess." I looked at her and she looked at me and we both started crying. :*(  He said he would write to her and she gave him her real address.

After school we went to Costco and then to a new dinner spot...

 Buffalo Wild Wings. Mmmmm.

I am excited for summer. No "schedules," no where we "have" to be.
Fun things ahead for my wittle wittes.
