Woodworking Adventure

At Lucas's school they have been learning all about wood. Everyday Lucas would come home with a different type of experiment, worksheet or investigative discovery packet to work on. Lucas especially loved this because it meant working with Nathan.

Today was the big day! Mrs. Kelso asked for parent volunteers to come in and help with the big wood working project for the end of the unit. Lowe's gave the school these coin counter/banks to make. Lucas was pumped!

Nathan dropped off Lucas, walked in to the office to get his volunteer badge, and they knew right off the bat that he was Lucas Witte's dad. They laughed and told him they haven't seen a resemblance like that in a while.

It was time for the fun.
They have been working on money all of November. Lucas thinks the penny is pointless since it costs more to make than its worth. He also thinks Gold Dollars are the coolest.
Lucas built his all by himself. Nathan was helping all the other kids at the table who didn't have a parent. Lucas, who is obsessed with Legos just followed the directions and went to town.
A lot of the kids did it wrong so Nathan figured out a way to take it apart and help those who needed it. Here is Mrs. Kelso (navy shirt) helping some kids. Have I mentioned that I LOVE her?
Little to no resemblance. Haha. J/K
I do not know what is happening here, but I kept it haha. You can see Nathan is taking apart ANOTHER kids box because it was not done right. Gotta love it.
I just loved his chin in this one and his concentration on the task at hand.

Lucas came home ecstatic to gush about his day and Nathan took him out to Lunch.
What a fun day! So glad Nathan took the camera, I wouldn't have wanted to miss it!
