So on to the day...
The kids waiting for everyone to get there.
I need to explain that Four Mile Historic Park is exactly what it sounds like...a historical park.
Abe Lincoln was handing out coins with his picture on it! (Pennies)
We joined the local quilters corner.
We shook hands with some soldiers.
took a peek into their living quarters.
Snuggled up near the colonial homes.
Learned how to make lace.
Bridget asked this lady if she could have that headband. Haha.
We went to the local farmers market and tasted some fresh from the garden peas.
giggled near the stables.
Sat in the shade while eating authentic true to the time Pringles. okay that was a stretch.
Rode a real StageCoach!
Like a real one with horses.
Even if we had to squeeze in it like it was a clown car. Hahaha.
Looked cute while chewing on blankets. Who needs binkis right?
We also got to check out the real outdoor/indoor kitchen and savor homemade woodburned oven snickerdoodles. I may have had 2.
Then we went to the kids area. Home Depot was there so the kids could
build something with their own hands.
Then we played like they played in the old days...
Stilts.
Tug o War!
This weird hoop and stick game.
Then the kids got to pan for gold.
Lucas is RICH!
He plans on investing this.
We had a nice little lunch and then left.
We went toLik's Ice Cream Parlor since it was nearby!
I had the best Cannoli Ice cream.
I almost couldn't share it!
Then we hit the Witte's for dinner and came home for fireworks. Bridget didn't make it. She is still sleeping. Haha.
It was a fun 4th of July! :)
Hope yours was too!
In other unrealated news. I am getting a NEW sister in law!
Jared and Erin are ENGAGED!
Makes this 4th EVEN better!
