Happy Birthday to my Father who turned the big 50 today.
Celebrations to occur next weekend!

What I Wouldn't Do

For this man...
besides eat gravy on mashed potatoes there isn't a whole lot I wouldn't do for this guy.

The proof is is in pudding right?
Yea well, for his birthday dinner he requested Thanksgiving Dinner.
And Thanksgiving dinner is what he got. There was no messing around here.
A 13 pound bird, garlic mashed potatoes, Stove Top (lol dad), and peas at the kids request.

Although he considers himself to be the lucky one I truly am the one who hit the jackpot.
I picked me a winner! He is the best companion, friend, hubster, and father that anyone could ever ask for.
He tries so hard to be a good brother and son and son in law and always puts me others first.
I am so grateful to have him in my life and even though I have to share him with others for work and church I know he does it because he is a great person inside and out. That is why I agreed to marry him.

Love you Nathan, all 184 pound of you! ;) hehehe

Saturday is a...

Does anyone know this song?  Here is the MUSIC and WORDS just press play on the left!

..."Saturday is a special day,
It's the day we get ready for Sunday;
We clean the house and we shop at the store,
so we won't have to work until Monday;
We brush our clothes and we shine our shoes,
And we call it our"get-the-work-done" day;
Then we trim our nails and we shampoo our hair,
so we can be ready for Sunday!"

Music by Chester W Hill
Lyrics by Rita S Robinson

Well today was a special day, because we celebrated Easter today.
We went to the ward Easter Egg Hunt.
But before we left we tried to take a picture.
but it was an epic fail. It was probably because it was SNOWING and the kids were FREEZING.
That's okay I got a cute one at the church...
Then the kids hunted for eggs.
Everyone got to find 14 then dump their candy in their baskets and return the eggs.
Luckily Keegan was there to help us return the eggs because Scarlett didn't understand the concept of NOT eating the candy...
So while she was shoving her face he helped us out.

Then we came home for nap
and the kids went out to find their egg for their prize.
I think I have mentioned before that we don't do huge Easter baskets.
They have to find the hard boiled decorated egg for a treat/prize.
Lucas and Bridget were being so kind to each other and so loving.
Can you guess what we have been focusing on for FHE lately?
It reminded me of this picture...
[apr90.jpg]
from 2009, wow they look different!
Both have grown a substantially good amount of hair since then! Haha.
Anyway here they are with their prizes...
An awesome dollar store find.
2 paint able posters!

Then Lucas suggested we play the egg and spoon game. So Nathan ran in to get the spoons and we played.
We also played a few other games for candy prizes.
In this house EVERYONE participates and cheers for each other. Hehe.
The kids had a pretty awesome easter. We celebrated today because it is our Stake Conference and we wanted to talk about Easter today since we won't be doing it at church.
And we can't wear these cute outfits to church so it was a perfectly good use of the day!
We will still clip our nails and shampoo our hair tonight. Haha.
After dinner of course! :)

Happy Easter!

Earth Day and Early Easter Fun

Today for Earth Day we talked a lot about saving money and recycling and plants.  Lucas was very into the conserve and recycling part of the talk.  Nathan came home early and we got the ground ready for our summer garden. Last year we only planted tomatoes. 2 plants and we had over 50 tomatoes per plant. So this year we decided to do a little more.  The kids each got to pick something to grow this year.  I said vegetable and Lucas picked carrots, Scarlett picked pumpkins and Bridget my best listener picked Watermelon. Juliet wanted zucchini so we decided to grab those too.  I picked squash and Nathan hasn't decided yet.

So out to Wyoming the backyard they went. It was so windy but they were determined.
Digging and raking are so much fun, digging and raking are so much fun...
Such concentration, can you tell they are one in the same?
Juliet on me, totally asleep and wearing every shade of pink I had in 0-3 months. Haha. Just Kidding.
Super Duper EXCITED
We started all of the seeds in plastic cups, they are currently on the window sills of the house. :)
Wha???? Wait there is a YGG song for this moment...Ahem
"Working together, helping each other, working together --Teamwork teamwork"
After our fun backyard time we had Macaroni and Trees for dinner.
Except I over cooked the macaroni so we had farfalle and trees!
Then we opened our EASTER Mail from Grandma and Grandpa Horn.
Ah yes, Bridget always sees an opportunity to pose.

The kids LOVED their cool shirts and cards.

And Candy! They just love getting mail!
I know its DARK. Oh well. Here is the link if you can't see it

Can't wait for the weekends festivities. Happy Earth Day!

Boy

There is something about this boy with
translucent, milky white, creamy, unfreckled skin that I just love
I don't know if its the imagination, the wonder, the endless possibilities ahead, or the fact that his favorite part of Tangled was the part where they say "I love you, I love you more, I love you most"
He truly is the best big brother ever and my favorite son.
I wouldn't want to change anything about him, except maybe his "holy pants"
Hehehe

Nip/Tuck/Barf/Poo/Family/Friends/Eggs

Haha, I always wanted Poo as a subject line but never had the guts to do it.

Last night WORST night ever. Since I had Juliet I would get these attacks in my breastbone/back and it would last for an hour and be terrible. Usually 1x a week and it would be during the day or right after dinner. Last night was the worst so far.  After talking to many people I think its 1 of 2 things. Lactose issues OR Gall Stones! *gasp*
Well, we are taking it easy and not having dairy for 3 days and then slowly introducing it back in slowly.  Also have a 2nd ultrasound to check for Gall Stones. If it is gall stones my gall bladder will need to be removed soon.
If I can't live with milk in my life I don't know what I will do.

Okay, next up. Juliet.  2 appointments and a quick call to the BEST DENTIST EVER!!!!!! and my little Juliet had her tongue clipped. Now usually they do a laser, but they actually ended up using surgical scissors and clipped it right there. We scared all of the kids in the exam room because my baby came out of the room with blood everywhere but - as soon as I sat her up she stopped crying and smiled and rolled out her tongue like she had been waiting weeks to stretch it out. Haha.  Look she can do this now...
YEA!!!!!!!!  We are noticing HUGE changes in her already and are so happy its over with!

I was sore all day from last nights attack but I couldn't turn down an opportunity to hang with my favorite nephews and niece! So they came over for some pulled pork soft tacos and they were DANG good!
Then Bridget and Sydney wrestled
Then we played and decorated eggs.
It is a very serious process.
I bought 2 different kits this time.
Very Very Serious
BUT both had great results.
Minus the egg dropping!
After that it was cookie decorating!!!
Veronica was right - at MY house there is ALWAYS dessert!
This was more messy but less serious.
Noah 5, Lucas 4, Elijah 3
This was also less sanitary.
But just as fun! :)
This was just the first step of egg dying, I bought some sticker and shrink wrap kits to enhance the coolness.
Each kid decorated 6-8 eggs.
I love having family close and traditions that we share the responsibilities in.
Next year @ Veronica's and I know it will be another fun time.

Sunshine on a Cloudy Day

The day actually wasn't that cloudy, it was more my mood.  Today was not a good day for ME at church.

1) Nathan had to be there at 11:30. We don't start until 1. So instead of getting them ready and fed and all that jazz by myself I decided that we would just go early.  The problem is that every Sunday for the last few weeks we have had to go early because of Nathan's calling. So the kids are dressed up from 11:30 until 4:30. That entire time is spent at church. It is a looooooong day for every one. This is what 12:30 normally .looks like...
We shove eat lunch before its time for church to start in a class room.  I have tried to get them ready and stuff on my own but it is easier in my mind to have the help and just hang out early.

2) Normally Nathan drops off Scarlett into Nursery.  Today on top of his meetings he had to teach Sunday School so that meant I had to drop her off. She cried and cried and cried. I mean it was just pitiful. So I took her out. Made some copies and dropped her back off, she cried so I stayed for awhile and she seemed okay until I was leaving and someone walked in the door I just left and Scarlett saw me walking away.  She NEVER cries to go to class. I mean we were all puzzled about this.

3) Scarlett finally is happy and fine to be in class and I was in the hall with some ladies when I hear the loudest scream of pain and I knew without a doubt it was Bridget.  Poor Bro. Clark looked so sad for her. She slammed her middle finger in the door and it was so nasty looking.  She was crying crying crying and was flipping the bird showing it to everyone in the hall. I get Bridget calmed down and back in class and peek on Scarlett and she is completely and totally asleep in class. Cute.

4) Its FINALLY time for 3rd hour and Lucas's teacher is looking in the RS Room. I figure its probably for me because hey - it would be following trend right? Nope, it was someone in his class needing her mommy.  So I was in search for the mother during 3rd hour and could not find anyone for this little girl.  Another teacher took her and played with her and got her to go back into class.

So on the way home I totally unload the day at church to Nathan and the kids all pass out in the back of the van. I guess everyone was tired.  But as soon as the van door opened it was time to go out and stretch.  So we let them.  They ran around and were silly and wearing my FAVORITE outfits. So Nathan and I sat on the steps and enjoyed the sunshine with the kids.
Now, let me remind you about THIS YELLOW DRESS.
I know I have posted about it several times. But I love it.  I have it in 3 sizes for the girls. :)
Something about eyelets in the spring!
Doesn't this face make you laugh? I love it!
Scarlett was all over the place and silly.
After all the bad, listening to the giggles and laughter made the day seem sunnier, brighter and a handful of skittles didn't hurt! :)
