Today

Ever since Bridget was a baby, people would stop us and tell us how beautiful she was. Not cute, not sweet, but beautiful. Over the last few months the comments have been more often and more specific.

A friend of mine from church also has a daughter like this, where she still (even though she is now 13.5) gets comments from other adults. I asked her what she told her beautiful daughter. She told me something that I am totally going to use. "Just because you are pretty, doesn't mean you can be mean. She also said looks aren't everything!" I totally agree. This sparked a long conversation about labeling our kids and how we don't ever want our kids to be labeled, or feel labeled.
Luckily for us, Bridget is BURSTING with a personality and her own voice. She thinks differently that some of us in the house, but that never stops her in getting her message across.
We are trying to teach her to control the wild side and how to become a good person and use her energy in a positive and constructive way.

Sometimes Bridget tries too hard, and she doesn't need too. Haha.

I think she looks best when she isn't trying.
Bridget is 150% girl. She is concerned with matching, and putting outfits together. Her favorite game is fashion story and she is so good at so many things relating to the girly stuff. All of that "girly" stuff is foreign to me. Bridget can't WAIT to wear make up and get her toes and nails painted, and loves jewelry and all things fancy. Which we are sooo looking forward to *facepalm*

Bridget is a great and loyal friend too. She also has a sneaky side.
She has been surprising us lately with all that she knows, and that she can do.
Another thing about Bridget that I LOOOOVE is that she isn't afraid to get dirty.
She is great at most sports and will probably be the cheerleader and athlete in high school.

When we were thinking of names for Miss Bridget, (before she was born) we wanted a name that screamed spunky and fun and a little wild, because Lucas was none of those things. hehehe
We didn't want her to be in his shadow, and so Bridget was the perfect fit.

No one will stand her way, and she will never be in anyone's shadow. She isn't built that way and is such a bright and shiny star, that we are convinced she is meant for great things.

She has this innate ability to stand out in photos and steal the show...
for example:
December 2010
and an outtake from the 2009 christmas pictures...

oh man have things changed since then!
*almost*

Bridget is very animated and compassionate. I couldn't imagine our family unit without her.
She can be your best friend or your worst enemy...
I am still trying to figure out who she gets that from *wink*
