Cali Day FIVE!!! - Beach

I took 300 pictures so we are going to split up today into 2 posts. :)
Today we went to the Promenade and the Pier and the BEACH!

But not without a pancake breakfast!

We loaded up the car and headed down. It only took 35 minutes to get there.
This will be important for tomorrow's post.

We got there right at 10 and it was still pretty quiet.
A Shoe Flag!
While we were there, there was an emergency unfolding right in front of us.
We stayed to watch the whole crew take care of what was happening.

Then we walked to the beach.
Here are the kids LAST year at another beach.
Here are the kids the YEAR before at this beach.

We let the kids check out the sights. They really loved this part.
Look what Scarlett found:
After we finally walked all the way to the edge of the pier, and down to the beach - we changed into suits, dunked the kids in sunscreen and went to play in the Ocean!
Lucas found this crab leg in the beach!
I fed Mason while the kids went to explore.
Then I put him down for a nap, and went to enjoy the water with everyone else.

Then we went back to our towels to eat lunch.
I packed lunches so we wouldn't have to stop and get it.
Lucas and I loved the sand in our toes.
Mason woke up super happy!
After lunch we played in the sand for a bit.

Nathan was really into this!
Perhaps, more than the kids. :)
That was fun and all, but they really, really, wanted to get back in the water.
So, we ALL went in!

Scarlett was making the waves catch her. Her little pigtails blowing in the wind was adorable.
The girls were playing and laughing. Lucas was almost all the way into the water when the waves swept him off his feet. He thought it was hilarious. Bridget was laughing and a wave came up and smacked her in the face. The taste of the water caught her off guard and she was seriously grossed out. HAHAHA.

Juliet was freezing so she sat back on the hill with Mason and I.

 He chose not to react.

On our way off the beach we saw a lady with this sting ray.
She was drying it out (it died) and let the kids check it out.

The kids had such a great time, but this is not where we end.

Tomorrow I will post what we did AFTER the promenade and the beach!
