First Snow of the Season

It was a mighty storm. The snow was so wet and heavy.

I asked Nathan to trim the tree this weekend and he didn't get to it and well - scroll down.

7am. Snowing.

Our neighborhood lost power from 11pm to 4am.
It was our tree in the back's fault.  It hit the sub box.

This is a tree in the back that used to be FULL of branches and leaves...now it looks like a palm tree.

This is my big beautiful tree. Its the biggest on the whole street and this is what we saw before Lucas went to school.  Just wait - it gets worse!

Bridget walked with Nathan to pick up Lucas from Kindergarten.  We live so close, why not.

Here is the school at 11am

During this time it was still snowing and we lost power again.

That is another broken branch behind them.

Since we had no power I let them out to have some fun!

Still snowing!

This is about 1pm. The snow had sorta stopped and neighbors were coming over asking if they could help with the branches.

You would hear a crack and then a BOOM.

Snow flying everywhere and you knew that another branch had fallen!

Scarlett came to investigate. She dressed herself.
You can see the snow is already starting to melt. I love Colorado just for that reason!

These branches almost hit the kids so Nathan went out and started to work on the clean up, with a chainsaw and 2 neighbors.

Above is everything that fell.

Nathan took a picture to demonstrate the size of the branches!

It was pretty bad.

Fun for the kids to play in, not fun to clean up.
Its already melting down and luckily the trashman comes today!

I suspect we will be in short sleeves by Saturday! :)
