*note* this has already happened.
As of now things with the baby are okay.
This post is for journaling purposes.
Today we had an ultrasound to determine how the scar tissue from my 2 previous C/S were, my placenta placement and of course the baby.
This was the office's first ultrasound with the new technician and "new to them equipment."
They measured everything and the tech wouldn't say much. We told her we didn't want to find out the gender...if it was obvious. ; )
She kept looking at my placenta. She took several pictures of it but didn't say anything about it. She did say it looked like there was an extra sack, some tearing and weird tissue overlays.
Then she looked at the baby. She said she couldn't get a great shot of its hands, but kept going. She took a bunch (more than normal we thought) of the internal organs.
Then we saw parts. It was too late. We have had enough ultrasounds/kids to know exactly what we were looking at. Darn it.
We went home and continued on our day.
The next day I got a HORRIBLE phone call. 10 minutes before I had to pick Lucas up from school. Figures.
The OB said the baby has the potential for some severe problems.
The kidneys are enlarged, the bowel tract is abnormal and there is something potentially wrong with it's hands.
They also think there is something chromosomally wrong with the baby. They encourage us to go in for the Quad Screen. Tears. Solid Tears. I call Nathan he flies home and we head back to the hospital for some tests.
They also scheduled an appointment with the perinatologist. Which is a specialist. They also suggest genetic counseling.
Then she tells me I have some serious problems with my placenta and it needs to be checked within the week.
Please keep me and baby in your prayers. I am scared, worried and nervous.
